Before the 1st session, the students will do a Skype meeting in order to know the interests of their peers. What kind of food do they like or prices. The students will have a worksheet with some guiding questions. They will have these interests into account when searching the restaurants.
In session number 4 and number 5 students will investigate some cheap, good and typical restaurants in their towns. In this session, the teacher will explain what they are going to do in the session and will share the objectives.
The objective is writing a Review of 5 restaurants in groups, using a WriteAbout. So this session is the introductory session.
The teacher first will show real models of reviews. Then she or he will will explain what a WriteAboutis and how to do it. After the explanations the students work in group, they browse the internet to search good, traditional and cheap restaurants in their towns. They write their ideas in the WriteAbout.
Students will continue with their WriteAbout during the first 30 minutes of the class.
The rest of the class period, each group presents their WriteAbout to the class. Students give Instant Feedback to the groups. At home, students can change things of their WriteAbouts that they want to improve.
- Revise and actualize their WriteAbouts considering their peer’s feedback in order to make further improvement.
- The scribe should make a neat copy of the WriteAbout writing it on a computer.
- When the WriteAbout is completed the scribe should upload it to their website.
At the end of this topic, all students will write in their individual folder their reflection diaries using the guiding questions developed by the teacher. Teacher will assess their reflection and make comments.
