SEASON PREDICTION 

The Bills are coming off yet another frustrating year. For the first time in Josh Allen's career, he was able to make the playoffs and not have to worry about facing Mahomes, Burrow, or Jackson, and yet he still could not make the Super Bowl. In fact, in his final playoff game against the Denver Broncos he had four turnovers, including a costly fumble before the half that led to the Broncos getting an easy three points. To his credit, though he was able to will the Bills the entire season with a mediocre receiving core consisting of Khalil Shakir as his WR1. Attempting to fix this mediocrity the front office went out during the offseason and overspent to acquire DJ Moore and finally give Josh Allen a true WR1 post Diggs era. They also got rid of their head coach Sean McDermott and replaced him with an in-house hire of Joe Brady which I feel accomplished nothing in terms of improving their Super Bowl odds.   

Another key piece that the Bills lost out on during the offseason was one of their key offensive linemen as he left for the Saints. This offense is extremely run heavy and having a weakened O-line would severely dampen their offensive firepower. On the flip side they make a great move in acquiring Bradley Chubb which will help that pass rush which was desperately needed last year. My expectation is that the offense won't change at all considering they simply promoted their offensive coordinator to head coach. I expect a similar approach of pounding the rock with James Cook who had a career year last year in both carries and usage. As for the receiving core, it is still weak in my eyes, but they have the best quarterback in the league, so it will be viable enough until they get to the playoffs.  

Regarding the defensive side of the ball I am very pleased on how Buffalo improved this free agency.. They added Bradley Chubb to beef up that defensive line and, in the draft, they selected a lockdown cornerback from Ohio State in Igbinosun to help repeat what they did in 2025, which is having the #1 pass defense in the league. Similar to the Patriots they start off the season with a brutal schedule and once again similar to the Patriots, I see them ending the season off strong and going in with momentum for the playoffs. The main issue though has never been the regular season. Josh Allen is one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game and I'm confident that he will lead this team to a successful regular season regardless of the circumstances he is put in. Throughout his career Allen has not been able to get over the hump of the playoffs and make it to a Super Bowl. And with all the changes that occurred this offseason with the most notable ones being changing the head coach and acquiring DJ Moore, the needle has not moved. I see a successful regular season with Buffalo finishing 12-5 yet another heartbreaking loss in the playoffs, thus repeating the same cycle in 2026.
