CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’VE WON THE NORTH PACIFIC VISION!
You’ve shown a good intuition in choosing an outstanding song to win The North Pacific Vision. Now… what’s next?
NOW IT’S TIME TO HOST THE NORTH PACIFIC VISION!
Yes! As winning nation you have the honor of hosting the contest. Now you may be asking yourself “How I host The North Pacific Vision?”. In this guide we’ll show you how to do it! Simply follow this rules and tips and you will make a memorable edition! Read carefully. Don't forget to join our Discord server, or you will not be able to host a TNPV edition.
STEP 1: FACTBOOK OR DISPATCH?
First of all, you have to make a factbook or dispatch with all the information about the edition you’re going to host. It must include:
Rules to participate.
Deadlines.
Dates of results.
How to vote.
Updated list of all contestant songs in all history of The North Pacific Vision (don’t worry, it’s posted in TNPV Site).
List of all contestant nations and their songs for this edition.
STEP 2: ANNOUNCE YOUR EDITION!
If you want to have contestants in your edition, you must announce it!
To do this, you can share the factbook in the RMB of The North Pacific or sending it by telegram to all the nations you want.
We recommend the mass telegram to all the region! This way, you’ll arrive to more nations and, of course, you’ll have more contestants! This was the method used in TNPV 8, hosted by Ihese, and 52 nations participated in the contest! The historical record of The North Pacific Vision until TNPV 31!
STEP 3: RECEPTION OF SONGS
The first participants are now sending a song to you by telegram! It’s so important to pay attention to some details when you accept the song:
No songs from the Eurovision Song Contest or previous editions of TNPV.
No political, religious, hateful or discriminatory messages.
Songs should be 6 minutes or less and have lyrics.
It is forbidden to participate with two nations managed by the same person.
Only WA member nations from all regions of NationStates and exemptions can participate on the contest. WA membership must last throughout the current edition. If not, the contestant nation will be disqualified.
STEP 4: REGISTRATION IS OVER!
You received all the contestant songs for your edition of The North Pacific Vision, the registrations are closed!
Now you must send a telegram to all contestants with all the information they need to vote the songs. This telegram must include:
The factbook of the edition.
Instructions about the voting system.
List of contestant songs.
And the deadline.
STEP 5: SCRUTINY
Now you will receive the voting of all the contestants, but remember to not accepting votes if the voting nation:
Votes for themselves.
Or don’t give 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point, in addition to five reserve nations.
Or give two different scores to the same nation.
Or mix votes for nations not in the grand final.
-
We recommend having a scoreboard with all the votes in Excel or another app to count votes. This way, you’ll have the control of all the points and won’t make mistakes counting them!
STEP 6: ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS
The moment has come! Your final effort hosting the contest is to give the final results to all contestant nations! Remember that a good gala of The North Pacific Vision must include:
Greetings from the host nation.
Flag Parade with all the contestant nations.
Detailed announcement of all the votes from all contestant nations (what we call “jury voting”).
Semi-finalist nations can also vote in the grandfinals, and the points will be revealed adding them to the jury score (what we call “televoting”).
The nation with the most points will be the winner of the contest!
STEP 7: ANNOUNCEMENT OF SEMI-FINALS RESULTS
Just in case there are Semi-Finals, the gala of Semi-Finals results must include:
Greetings from the host nation.
It’s not mandatory, but you can make a Flag Parade with all the contestant nations.
Announcement of the qualifiers for the Grand Final, announcing them in a random order and without revealing their scores.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
Hosting an edition of The North Pacific Vision is an exercise of patience, organization and honesty. We emphasize the concept of organization: if you want to manage the contest without repeated songs, repeated nations and voting mistakes, you must collect all possible information before you start hosting your edition. This is paramount, especially when some nations have intentions to participate with songs from former editions.
