WHAT IS TNPV?

The North Pacific Vision (commonly known by the acronym TNPV) is a popular monthly song contest inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest. Hosted in the Nationstates region, The North Pacific, TNPV invites participants to showcase their musical taste whilst competing in a vibrant celebration of music and community!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The follows a format similar to Eurovision. Each participating nation selects an existing song to represent them in the contest. Once all entries are submitted, contestants rank and vote for the songs submitted by other nations. Points are awarded based on those rankings, and the nation with the most points wins the edition.

WHAT MAKES TNPV SO SPECIAL?

TNPV has been uniting The North Pacific for over five years now, forging a vibrant and warm community. Being able to share your musical interests whilst discovering and being inspired by others' musical tastes has proven to be a succesful recipe. The contest's simplicity, competitiveness and similarity to Eurovision have attracted a large and dedicated group of participant's throughout the years! Thanks to the hard work and quality put down by the council and other contributors, TNPV has evolved into the main cultural event in TNP.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Joining TNPV is easy! First, your nation must either be a World Assembly (WA) member or receive an exemption from the TNPV council. Keep an eye on The North Pacific Regional Message Board (RMB), where the host nation will announce the start of the new edition. The host will also share an official factbook containing all rules, instructions and deadlines. Simply send a song that complies with the rules to the host nation via telegram, and you are in!

DOES MY NATION HAVE TO RESIDE IN THE NORTH PACIFIC?

No, nations from across Nationstates are welcome to participate, as long as they do not reside in a region hostile to TNP. All nations must meet the WA membership requirement or receive an exemption.

Update: your region must have an embassy with TNP in order to participate

HOW DO I RECEIVE AN EXEMPTION FROM THE WA RULE?

Exemptions are granted on a case-by-case basis. If you're a member of the North Pacific Army (NPA) or an army not hostile with TNP you may qualify for an exemption by providing proof of membership. Other execeptions are rare but possible. To request an exemption, please contact a member of the TNPV Council. Please note that a WA ban by NationStates moderators is not considered a valid reason for exemption.

WHO MANAGES TNPV?

The TNPV Council is the governing body of the contest. It is made up of experienced and dedicated contestants of TNPV whose contributions to the contest have been exceptional and historic.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE COUNCIL?

TNPV Council organises and oversees new editions (with the help of the host), updates the official site, and creates, enforces and adapts the rules of the contest. In short: the council is essential for the contest's continued success and existence.

HOW OFTEN IS TNPV?

Typically, there is one edition per month. However the length of the editions may vary due to the possibility of special editions and the availability of the host. Whilst the number of editions per year can fluctuate, TNPV remains a consistent and regular competition.

WHERE DO I FIND MORE INFORMATION?

All essential information can be found on this website and in the official factbook for the current edition. If you have further questions, feel free to contact a member of the council.
