Introduction to Titus 

                                                                            Paul wrote his letter to Titus from Nicopolis (in Greece) in approximately AD 63, after the apostle’s release from his first Roman imprisonment. Upon leaving Timothy in Ephesus to minister there, Paul accompanied Titus to the island of Crete, where he intended Titus to lead and organize the island’s churches in their early years of existence which Paul had established on one of his missionary journeys

                                                                      This letter advises Titus regarding what qualifications to look for in leaders for the church. He also warns Titus of the reputations of those living on the island of Crete. The doctrine of the incarnation in the letter to Titus grounds its message of producing right living through the careful attention to theological truth. 

தீத்துவின் அறிமுகம் 

                                                                           அப்போஸ்தலன் தனது முதல் ரோமானிய சிறையிலிருந்து விடுவிக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு, கி.பி 63 இல் நிக்கோபோலிஸிலிருந்து (கிரீஸில்) இருந்து தீத்துவுக்கு பவுல் தனது கடிதத்தை எழுதினார். தீமோத்தேயுவை எபேசுவில் ஊழியம் செய்வதற்காக விட்டுவிட்டு, பவுல் தீத்துவிடம் கிரேத் தீவுக்குச் சென்றார், அங்கு அவர் தீவின் சபைகளை அவர்களின் ஆரம்ப ஆண்டுகளில் வழிநடத்தி ஒழுங்கமைக்க தீத்து விரும்பினார். 

                                                              இந்த கடிதம், சபை தலைவர்களுக்கு என்ன தகுதிகளைத் தேடுவது என்பது குறித்து தீத்துவுக்கு அறிவுறுத்துகிறது. கிரேத் தீவில் வசிப்பவர்களின் நற்பெயர்களைப் பற்றியும் அவர் தீத்துவுக்கு எச்சரிக்கிறார். தீத்துவுக்கு எழுதிய கடிதத்தில் அவதாரம் பற்றிய கோட்பாடு, இறையியல் உண்மையை கவனமாக கவனிப்பதன் மூலம் சரியான வாழ்க்கையை உருவாக்குவதற்கான அதன் செய்தியை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டது.
