Once the wing was finished and they were ready to open the wing they couldn't remove the finish without damaging the floor.

The bonnet method uses less water and a more condensed cleaning solution.
Why the bonnet method works on commercial carpet: because spinning over 300 rpm the carpet is getting hundreds of scrubs compared to my wand going over the area twice using much more water flushing out soils.
If I go over the stains more than twice, too much moisture is applied and stains reappear (called wick back) sometimes worse than before the cleaning.
Another factor is there isn't padding under this type of carpet so there isn't the same airflow that's under a home carpet so there's limited suction. This means that wands leave more moisture behind in the wet carpet.
The water in the excessively wet carpet evaporates leaving a condensed cleaning solution which didn't get pulled out from the cleaning.
This condensed cleaner that's now in the carpet continues to clean customers shoes and carts wheels that pass over it.
Let this sink in - THE CARPET is now like a SPONGE WITH SOAP and holds the soil from the feet and wheels that travel over it.
That explains why this carpet looked so dirty.
