V11 Installer
(no need for installation options)
Quick steps for installing TK17 V11:
Unlike VX, there's no need for different Installation Options. Just follow the prompts. If you are unsure what the different options do, use the defaults.
Quick steps for installing TK17 VX:
Launch "tk17v10.x.00_setup.exe". You will be presented with 3 options:
Express: This is the standard full install to a specific location on your computer (it says "Recommended", but most prefer "Portable").
Advanced: Allows you to pick & choose what features to install, adjust settings, and select a default language.
Portable: (recommended) Also a full install with the flexibility to move your installation to another drive, even another computer, without reinstalling.
"Express" and "Advanced" installs will automatically add an icon to the desktop called "The Klub 17 - v10.x.x". If however you created a "Portable" install, open the folder you installed VX to and find "Play The Klub 17.exe" (you must ALWAYS run "Play the Klub.exe" FIRST following a "Portable" install so that it creates the required missing folders. From then on, you can use "TK17_Launcher.exe" (in the binaries folder) to start the program.
If you did an "Express" or "Portable" installation but wish the use TK17 in a language other than English, launch the "Options Manager" app and select the default language on the "Options" tab. You can also set the default language by creating a shortcut to "Binaries\TK17_Launcher.exe" and add a language "switch" to the end of the path (edit the shortcut's Properties.) The language options are: --en, --es, --de, --ru, --it, --jp (for English, Espanol, Deutch, Russian, Italian & Japanese). While "Portuguese" & "French" are both valid language options in the Options Manager", there are no switches for either.
The Launcher:

The TK17 Launcher has two icons: "Free game" & "Options". Since this is your first time, you should configure your Options first.
Free Game - Use this to start TK17. A default username & password is entered for you but it is ignored. It can be anything except blank, and if you accidentally change it, don't worry. It will be reset the next time you launch the program even if "Save Password" is checked. (In case you are wondering, the value in both boxes is "0000".)
TK17 is completely free to use. There is no charge for any reason.
Click "Start" to load the Main Menu.

VX Options:
Render Type: OpenGL or DirectX - This lets you select the best graphics rendering driver for your computer. Most Windows users will stick with the default Windows graphics renderer: "DirectX" (note: a popular 3rd Party graphics enhancement called "Hook" requires "DirectX".
Resolution Options: Set your preferred display settings. Your options will vary based on your monitor & graphics capabilities of your computer. 32bit color is recommended. Only Resolutions & Refresh Rates your monitor is capable of will appear in those drop-down menus. (Note: If your monitor can "pivot", your resolution options will change to match).
"Full-screen", "Vertical Synchronization" & "Limit to 120Hz" checkboxes - If "Full screen" is unchecked, VX will run in a window on your desktop. Users of slower/older computers may prefer to run "full screen" in a lower resolution for maximum speed. Use "Vertical Sync" if video and sound seem to be out of sync. "Limit to 120hz" if your graphics card is overheating because it is rendering display frames too fast.
"Sound" - If you are not getting any sound when using VX you may need to change the default sound output device. Typically, you will not need to change this.
"OpenGL Acceleration" - Settings for experienced OpenGL users only. Both Windows and Linux support "OpenGL".
If you make any changes, be sure to click "Save" before continuing.
V11 Options:
Render Type: V11 has a new render option... DirectX 9+Shaders... to help compensate for the lack of "Hook" support. This mode simulates shine and gloss added using "Hook" texture layers. "9" (DX9) and "OpenGL" modes operate the same as before.
Resolution Options: Set your preferred resolution. Options will vary based on your monitor. If you have a high resolution (2K/4K/etc.) monitor, you can run TK17 in a lower resolution window or full screen.
antialiasing: If you have a high-end video card, you can set the level of antialiasing to increase the smoothness of images.)
Fullscreen: Run TK17 full screen. If you selected a lower resolution, the interface is stretched to fill your screen, which can make things easier to read. It can also increase your FPS by a few frames if needed.
Oculus VR: (NEW!) Support for Oculus 3D headsets is now built-in.
Refresh Rate: Adjust if you notice frame skipping or audio sync issues.
(Check boxes to enable/disable various DirectX graphics features.
