It is not an exaggeration to say that this was an assessment I never expected to require. It was one of those projects that made me think, "I'll actually need to use this in real life someday," as opposed to those dubious ones with maybe no practical applicability. When I initially heard about this evaluation in class, I was perplexed and unsure where to begin, because I had never created a proper curriculum vitae (CV) before, other from studying how a CV should be formatted. What made it worse was that my instructor did not want it done in the old-boring way, as she would remark, she wanted it done in a creative way that would pique her interest in it. So I had to research current acceptable methods of constructing a CV, which was brief and easy. The CV was an excellent tool for teaching me how to display my credentials in a more professional manner while seeking for a job. When creating one, I had to think of a method to pique the interest of everyone who got their hands on the CV, so I asked myself, "Would anyone look at my cv and instantly be convinced of who I sell myself to be?".
Despite the fact that I have been given multiple opportunities to lead a group of people in various duties, I have never considered evaluating the type of leadership I possess. The segment of writing about my leadership style required me to think on how I manage people and tasks, and ultimately led to analyzing my personality, character, and ideals first as an individual in order to form a conclusion about the leadership style with which I connect. This procedure led in a change in my approach to circumstances, such as the scenario I described in the evaluation.
Overall, this assessment was a great starting point for learning how to create my own portfolio, which will be useful in other areas such as side businesses/platforms I may use to generate income, for example, as a professional musician, I will need a profile/portfolio to sell my brand to the masses (clients and consumers of my services). I'm delighted I got to undertake life evaluation at an academic level!
