Democratic leadership, sometimes referred to as participatory leadership, focuses on including as many people as possible in the decision-making process (Akparep, Jengre and Mogre, 2019). Objective criticism and appreciation are provided, and the group develops a sense of responsibility. This leadership encourages collaboration, includes a range of viewpoints and approaches, increases team engagement and productivity, can lead to more original solutions and the majority agrees with the result (Nwokocha and Iheriohanma, 2015)
I am a firm believer of “two heads are better than one” motto. I enjoy hearing other people's ideas, perspectives, and approaches, whether or not I have the final say/decision. When entrusted with leading a group of people to perform a specific task, I always find a way to ensure that it is a people-intensive task, which means I do not dictate how it should be done, but instead create an environment that will allow each member to contribute their best involvements of opinions and participation to ensure the task's success.
