WEEK 1
Hello everyone! We’re Laura and Álvaro and in this week we have been the stars of Tinkiwinkis. We have to admit that we were too nervous to do this role but we think we did the best of us and this is the most important thing. Now we are going to introduce our point of view.
(Laura)
In my opinion I have to say that the star is one of the roles that most responsibility involves. The star is in charge of representing the group and its work, so it's impossible not to be nervous because if the star fails, all the group members suffer the consequences. The first thing I thought when I knew that this week I was going to be the star was “What bad luck I have”. However I tried to keep calm and do my best.
On Tuesday night when I arrived home I read again the documents to prepare the main ideas and how to explain them according to our project and, as the time flew, suddenly we were on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, I was terribly nervous and shaking and although the rest of the group tried to calm me down I couldn’t. However, when the teacher assigned the order in which we were going to present our expositions, like if we were in a "speed dating" I calmed down. I felt better because it is always worse to be the one who has to break the ice in front of the class.
Finally, the performance started. I did my best and although I was very nervous until the end, I didn’t skip any part of the script. You can’t imagine the feeling of liberation that I felt when we finished and all of my partners applauded us. I felt as if I had taken a load off. But after all, I have liked my role this week because at the end what I had to do, talking in front of people and giving a lesson is for what I’m studying to be in the future.
(Alvaro)
I share my colleague's point of view in a way, the role of star has a lot of responsibilities because you represent your whole group so you have the responsibility to do well for them.
personally I felt comfortable to be presented despite being a shy person, maybe it was due to the way we presented (speed dating).
I spent a long time preparing the presentation I think I spent all Tuesday afternoon preparing my presentation because I was a bit afraid to present then in the morning I felt calmer and in the end I think we made a good presentation all the colleagues said it was good and that it was very funny and interactive our presentation was very good.
Finally, having done this role, which at first seemed to me the most complicated, now I have to say that they are complicated and that shyness does not prevent you from doing it well.
WEEK 2
Hey guys!!! I'm Alba, and I've been the star of this week. I'm the one who represents the group, so I have to do a nice job in order to make a good impression on our classmates. At first, I was so scared of playing that role because of my shyness, however, I deal with it the best way I could.
The task was about making a graphic story, so what I had to do was to explain in a three minutes speech how we did it and the format we used, which was Auca, a genre of a story mainly developed in Catalonia. What I did was to look for information about Auca, but also about the technological resources we used, and the relation between our story and the four main potentialities of ICT.
On Wednesday, the presentation day was my turn to show to the class our fantastic task. Linda told us to explain our work to every single group, that is because of the mask is hard to listen to our colleagues when they make the presentation in front of the class, so making this kind of stages to show our job is easier for everyone to understand.
Despite being so nervous, I think I did a great job, although there could always be some improvements to take note of, for the next time.
See you next week!!
WEEK 3
Hi Tinkis!!! We are Teresa and Carmen and this week we have been the stars. Before exposing our activity in front of our partners were so nervous because representing our team supose a huge responsability.
This week we had to do an activity using technological advices and explain to our partners how we made, why we chose this activity, his benefits... And we had to present it in Pechakucha style, is a type of presentation based in 20 slides of 20 seconds each.
Once we had the presentation, we decided to divide it in two parts: the process of making the activity (Teresa explains) and the benefits and more specific data of the activity (Carmen explains). Before doing the presentation, we we were worried because we never do this type of presentation (Pechakucha style), but after doing a lot of repetitions and adjust the tim with the text, finally we think that we do it well.
We think that we have done a great job, but always there are things to improve!!!
WEEK 4
Hello my name is Álvaro and this week together with my partner Alba, we have been the stars of our team.
In this week the role of stars was to play the role of a teacher and do an activity with a class group. This activity from our point of view was a very entertaining and interesting activity and our group prepared an activity with a lot of technological resources. The task was very fun, we finished it just in time.
We personally believe that we did a great job where the other team helped us a lot to develop the activity, and we will continue with this work dynamic. Besides it help us to discover the real work of being a teacher and put it in practice.
WEEK 5
Hello I'm Laura and this week apart from being the curator I'm also the star of Tinkiwinkis.
As we already know being the star in Tinkiwinkis group is always the worst for us. Basically because none of our group likes to be the spokesperson. But this task was different from the others, usually the star has to present to the whole class the work we've done during the week.
Instead, we have created 9 rubrics each one for its each tool. So, in class Linda has proposed some questions and she has given us a few minutes to debate in our group and then the star was in charge of telling to the whole class our position.
I think, I have done a great job as the star or at least I hope so!
WEEK 6
Hi!!! I'm Teresa, the star of Tinkiwinkis team this week, and I'm going to explain you what I have done this week as a star and how has been my experinence with this role.
This week we have done an activity that we liked a lot, the one we liked the most so far. We had to create an educational game to work on game based learning.
And I had to carry out the game with another group. At first I was worried that I didn't know how to express myself or explain the game well because although it wasn't difficult, it had some things that were difficult to understand and that I had to explain clearly. This was the use of the starfish for the exchange with other partners, but having some instructions for the game has made my job easier.
Also, the group ICTeachers has made my job easier and it has made us spend a good time remembering concepts about recycling that we had practically forgotten.
This activity has made me reflect a lot because working with game based learning has made me realize that there are other alternatives to books that are really effective for learning and that make the child enjoy this process. And that, in addition, a good explanation, either about how to do an activity or about concepts, is key to children's understanding.
I really liked this activity because it already puts you in the role of teacher, something that I think is very important because it gives you ideas and a bit of experience for future situations.
I think that this week I have done well because despite the nerves I have been able to explain the game well and resolve all the doubts that have arisen, but there is always room for improvement.
WEEK 7
Hello! I'm Carmen and this week apart from being the journalist I've also been the star of Tinkiwinkis, so I’m going to explain how my experience has been.
This week's task was oriented around computational thinking, to which we were introduced through the Hour of Code platform, through which we had to choose three games that met different criteria and then create a podcast to share our experience.
Likewise, I was the voice of the podcast. In addition, the podcast was to include an interview with the star of another group, and I was interviewed by the Wildcats, who treated me as if I was one of their working group, which I was grateful for because I am very shy. I have to admit that I was nervous at first as I didn't know what questions I was going to be asked and whether I would be able to answer and express my opinion and that of my group properly, but in the end I put all my effort into it and I think I did a great job.
Personally, I had not heard of the concept of computational thinking before, so at first I thought it would be a difficult task and perhaps a bit boring. However, I was completely wrong. I found it very interesting and as the task developed I became curious about this concept, its application in the classroom and its benefits, something that I think is crucial in a teacher, to be eager to discover new things in order to bring the maximum innovation to the classroom. It has been fascinating to discover how programming the instructions of games that children enjoy allows them to develop language and numerical skills, as well as critical thinking and interactivity.
I love discovering new, interesting and above all useful things for the future, so this task has been amusing for me.
I think that as a star I have done a good job and I have tried to take advantage of this experience, although there are always things to improve but it is part of the learning process.
It's time to keep working. Let's go Tinkis!
WEEK 8
Hello, my name is Alvaro and this week I'm the star of the tinkiwinkis group and I'm going to tell my experience developing this role during this week.
This week we had to make a diagram talking about our PLE (personal learning environment), the task was based on sharing our experiences working with them, especially focusing on the devices we use, the way we access it and the places where we use it and the main purpose of this sharing was to locate the differences in use and see if these affected the development of the tasks.
Now talking about my working experience I can say that I do not differ in the use of the tools with my colleagues.
From my point of view the development of this task helped us to get to know how our colleagues work and at least I learned how to use some of the tools in a more productive way.
Within my role of being I can say that it is the role where I have the worst time because I get very nervous when I have to speak in public, besides these nerves were added to a stressful situation because we had little time to prepare the task, once the task was done from my point of view I did a good star role but Linda made some small nuances in our presentation.
Now it's time to improve and keep on working.
WEEK 9
Hello, we are Alba and Laura and week we were the stars of Tinkiwinkis.
(Laura)
Apart from being the translator, I've also been the star of Tinkiwinkis, so I’m going to explain how my experience has been.
This was the pre-last task of our course and, in this we explored the concept of Digital Teaching Concept (DTC) our mission was to create an infographic that explain the main elements that would constitute the teaching competence for a digital world, the main feature of everyone, as well as the relationships with other elements of education/society and participants in the educational process.
Now, let's talk about how was it! At first, I have to admit that both of us were too nervous but not so much because because we have gotten used to speaking in front of the class, we have gained more confidence and it is not as hard as at the beginning.
We have to do the same we did in the first task, a speed learning. So, for me it was more relaxed since I was also the star in the first task. We did the presentation eight times, believe me we just tired of talking so much. But, it was worth it because I am sure that we have improved a lot.
I'm sure there has been a huge change between the tinkis of before and the tinkis of now.
(Alba)
As well as Laura, I have shared the role of star with another one, in my case the curator. At this point of the course, I could say that on the speaking matter I have become more confident since on the first task where I had to speak I was really scared of speaking in public, so this feeling has been removed. Nonetheless, now I have another concern, which is being afraid of how our work is, if we've done it correctly or not, this is present in all our presentations, and it'll continue all the way long, especially for me, as an insecure person.
Regarding this task's presentation, I believed that Laura and I did it good, it was such a tricky task for us because we had to make it in 6 minutes, not only for one group but also for all the eight work groups of the class, which was a little tired, but at the end of it all our nervousness of speaking in public disappeared.
From my point of view, although there are some points to improve in all the fields we, as a group, have made such a great job.
WEEK 10
Hi!!! I´m Teresa and this week I´m also the star of Tinkiwinkis team. It's our last task. It is our last task so I am going to tell you about my experience with the task and how I have evolved as a star from the first task until today.
On Wednesday, I have had to explain the rubric that we made between Puzzleteam and Tinkiwinkis to evaluate the roles of translator and curator, to the Wildcats, See you on Tuesday and ICTeachers. I was not nervous at all, since speaking in front of my classmates is no longer difficult for me, on the contrary, I think that when each star explained their rubric we had a good time listening to what they had taken into account to evaluate the others.
On Friday, each group gave feedback on the roles of the other groups using their rubric. And we did the Wednesday thing again, but this time each star said her feedback to each group. I think I did well as a star, since I put a lot of interest in everyone understanding me, repeating the information if necessary.
Carrying out the role of being several times during this semester has meant that in this last task I am able to speak in front of my classmates without being nervous and without it being a difficult task for me, because at the beginning when I had to be a star I did not I liked it because it was very difficult for me to speak to my classmates in English. But now, I have come to like the role of star.
