Rationale:
The collaboration in school district 143.5 was based on the "CHAMPS" expectation chart that the students will see throughout their journey in this district. The expectations are posted in every classroom and in the hallways. Each professional individual that is involved with the students daily reminds them of their expectations. The students are reminded during transition times and before each lesson on their voice level, what to do if they need help, what activity they will be doing, about their movement, and what their participation should be, and they are reminded that when they do mall these things they will have success.
The fourth-grade reading team also collaborates daily and they complete pacing guides. These pacing guides help the team stay on track and they are able to give common assessments provided by their reading coach at the end of each lesson. The team also shares resources and how they use the resource. The team uses and collaborates using data tracking forms which allow the team to see how to plan future instruction.
