Post-school predictors are crucial because they help anticipate and influence the outcomes of youth transitioning from education to adulthood. These predictors, such as career awareness, technical education, work experience, and independent living skills, provide insights into the readiness and success of young adults in their careers and daily lives. Implementing predictors such as education, employment, and independent living skills for youth who are incarcerated positively impacts students in the areas of education, employment, and independent living when they are exposed to the predictor areas while before exiting high school.
The chart linked below, created by the National Technical Assistance Center on Transition (NTACT:C), categorizes the predictors of post school success into three areas: Education, Employment, Independent Living.
