Local Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) are instrumental in establishing programs and services to improve children’s lives. In 1960 Thomas Kelly Elementary PTA organized when the school opened as a local PTA within the 3rd District of The California State PTA. The National PTA was founded in 1897 in Washington, DC. Each PTA is a unique part of the fabric of the United States’ public-education system and a trusted partner to parents, families, educators and community members, as it advocates for education, welfare, health and safety of all children.
