Draft 1:

Phase 1

1. Clearing, trimming, general clean-up

2. Replant trees that have died

3. Reestablish trails

4. Restore outdoor classroom

Phase 2

1. Build trails (weed cloth, bender board, decomposed granite)

2. Identify all trees and bushes and make signs with QR codes.

3. Prepare area for amphitheater. 

Phase 3

1. Build Amphitheater (Logs or redwood wood benches)

Phase 4

1.  Build accessible ramp from the upper grade play ground to the start of the trails. 

• A meeting with SJUSD Director of Maintenance and Operations (Colin Bross) as been requested to discuss general feasibility and district requirements to proceed with the goal of creating more permanent trails and rebuilding the outdoor amphitheater. (April 2024)

• The PTA has collected ~$500 in donations for school year 2023/2024 to date for this effort. The PTA Activity Chair has been appointed as Sandy Navarro, PTA Treasurer (2023). This formality is required so that PTA's donated funds can be allocated. A larger committee inside and outside PTA is forming. Please sign up to get involved or donate! (Nov 2023).

• Draft 1 phased-approach plans posted (Sept 2023). 

• The original hard copy plans have been read through a  professional digitization reader (Scan2Net) to enhance faded legibility (May 2023). Thanks to Bob for overseeing the effort!
