Day 1- knowing me, knowing you
Great reception by our Romanian friends followed by some fun and engaging activities that definitely broke the ice ☀
After a marvellous lunch and a guided tour around the school we visited several interesting places around Negresti and even got to know the Mayor of Negresti in the Town Hall. We ended this exciting first day participating in a workshop organised by the Youth Center Negresti where we painted Romanian Easter eggs, a really special tradition.
Day 2 - Me and Myself
Today we had the chance to know more about what the other participants like to do in their free time. We also shared some experiences and traditions from our country. As communication is the key word, we all participated in communication workshops prepared by a personal development counsellor and took part in an art workshop where we made some artistic t-shirts. The day ended with all of us participating in a Frisbee match, one of the most popular sports in Romania.
Day 3 - Iasi as the capital of Moldavia
This fantastic 3rd day began with a full-day trip to Iasi, the second largest city of Romania, where we got to know the culture, geography and Romanian traditions.
It began at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, the oldest and one of the most important universities in Romania. It was followed by a visit to the History Museum - Cucuteni Civilisation, an academic museum. After a tasty meal we were enchanted by the magnificent Palace of Culture Iasi, where we visited the Ethnographic Museum and the Garden of the Palace. This fun and enriching experience ended with a fabulous view of the city in Repedea Hill.❤
Day 4 - Discovering other ways of communication.
Our 4th day was spent in Vaslui, a town next to Negresti. Here we visited Stefan Cel Mare Church, a beautiful orthodox church with colourfully decorated facades, which is dedicated to the Beheading of John the Baptist.
After a personal development workshop in Europe Direct Vaslui we had a Goose Chase in the magnificent Copou Park Vaslui. It was a fun team competition where communication and cooperation were essential.
This day ended perfectly with a farewell dinner at the Hanul Boierilor restaurant. It's a traditional Romanian restaurant where we got to present our prepared materials on Portuguese traditional food and also learnt about the Polish and Romanian ones.
We tried several tasty regional dishes and got familiarised with Romanian customs. We had such a great time together dancing, singing and learning regional dances. We were very sad it had to end. We'll never forget this day.
Day 5 - Summary and farewell to Romanian and Polish friends
It was a mixed feelings day. It was our last day in this beautiful place and time to summarise this full and fun week. We had a photo collage expressing and summing up our most expressive moments spent together. We also had to express our feelings and emotions through colour and words and a magnificent Tree of Life was created together. And because we all must remind why we should be thankful for, we filled up a gratitude jar.
After some refreshments was time to say goodbye to this amazing experience and some of our Romanian friends took us to the airport where a smooth trip back home began. Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience ❣
