Shelley is based in Bradford and is a keen archer. Her arrow tattoo is a cover-up of another tattoo but she wanted something with bold lines that also represents her and her hobby of 25 years.
“I like the fact it’s bold, with heavy colours, and heavy lines... I kind of wanted something heavier that had this old school feel and had thick lines and kind of minimal colouring.”
“I have an arrow tattooed on me. It’s like a North American style arrow, so a traditional one. I’ve been doing archery for the past 25 years; so arrows are quite important to me... One thing that's really nice is it's across my right shoulder, which when I draw a bow, the right shoulder is the one that's moving backwards, so my right hand pulls the string back. So when I shoot, my arm actually, if I'm wearing a top that you can see it, kind of flexes as I shoot, which I think is really cool.”
