Welcome, as you have been invited to the 5th annual Da Station League season. It is that time again for another incredibly competitive and enthralling year of heartbreaking defeats and captivating triumphs.
I would like to personally congratulate our champion Nick DiGrazio as he had an incredible run last season. The target upon his back is bigger than ever and we will see if he has any chance of becoming the second person to ever repeat as champion, I highly doubt it.
I would also like to introduce our newest member, Mike DeStefano to our league. One of the biggest problems in our league’s past was that only about 50-60% of our members would converse and participate in the league week to week. This includes being present on Sundays every once in a while. I believe that Mike can provide that involvement that was lacking before. Because of predetermined circumstances however, he cannot be present for tomorrow draft so David will be his so called “advocate” for the draft.
Now down to business.
Tomorrow is the day. Draft Day. I expect everyone in the league to meet at my house at 230-3 o’clock with an electronic means of drafting. This includes a laptop, smartphone, tablet, etc. I have one iPad mini available if anyone has trouble remembering to bring what they need but cannot guarantee it’s reliability.
Each pick will take 60 seconds, 10 picks per round, and 17 rounds. This will roughly equate to a 1-2 hour draft depending if everyone takes the allotted time each pick.
The draft order will be selected later today so that we can all have somewhat near 24 hours before draft time to get a sense of our strategy. I will screen record the randomization of the draft order to preserve its integrity. I will click the randomization button 3 times and the third randomization will be the one that we use.
Remember $50 is this year league entry fee. YOU MUST BRING THIS WITH YOU IN ORDER TO DRAFT. I will also be accepting Venmo, PayPal, Square and Snap cash payments as well if you cannot get to the ATM.
Good luck to all of the members of our league and I hope this year is our best yet.
Your Commissioner,
Joseph C. Trimarco
(Not to be confused with the sacko of father I have, Joseph W.)
P.S. We have been shooting around the idea of a league podcast instead of weekly emailed report of power rankings. Would all of you rather have that instead? Is there some other idea you guys have? I would like your guys’ input.
