Da Station League,
Week 7 Power Rankings
1. 5-1 (+1) The Four Falls of Buffalo. Justin's team made an emphatic statement this past week by not only crushing David's team, but also taking control of the league and division. He already had the matchup wrapped up before Monday night but then decided to add on another 31.8 from scoring monster David Johnson. Justin sits upon the top of the standings in most points and is one of three 5-1 teams. He is averaging 116.2 points a game! His next matchup is against a demoralized Pure Evil squad that he should have no problem steamrolling to 6-1.
2. 5-1 (+1) Mediocre ClarinetPlayers. My team is doing its best to silence the haters by not only out scoring everyone else this week, but also having back to back 130 point games. After that 50 point week (most embarrassing output this year and my only loss) I was scrambling to find running backs, sending trade after trade to no avail. But the fantasy gods have seemed to have rewarded me with players such as Jay Ajayi and Spencer Ware who both seem to be carrying the load for their respective teams despite superstar talent returning from injury. Going forward with them, Gronk, and Brees, the Clarinetplayers can be somewhat of a force to be reckoned with. Having a 3 game lead over the division doesn't hurt either.
3. 5-1 (-2) Team Buddy. The man who could do no wrong falls to the man who can never score more than 70. Sack was definitely brought back down to earth this week. After only scoring 20 before the night game on Sunday, Sack was down 50 points to new sacko leader Dan. And that lead proved to be insurmountable even after a near perfect game from Lamar Miller (29.8) and the ageless wonder Adam Vinatieri. The real issue was that Eric didn't have his MVP Viking D/ST which, if played, probably would've made him beat Dan. Next week Sack goes against the champ Joe Digrazio which at the beginning of the year no one would've thought this was going to be a 5-1 to 1-5 matchup in favor or Eric. Watch out Sack cause this has the making of a trap game.
4. 3-3 (0) Drake's New Favorite Team. Nick's team still has all the pieces to make a championship run, but at the moment continues to struggle shifting through his vast depth of bench. He took a hard loss against Big Dave this past week because neither team had any real breakout stars. He comes over my house every week bragging about how he has great team but losses like these can domino effect down the season. He currently has the final playoff spot, which is kind of ridiculous at 3-3. However, this is the turning point of the season. Will Nick falter and go to the bottom of the standings with his brother or rise to the occasion and challenge me for the division? My advice would be to trade some of his pieces to sure up some of his starters, but that's just me.
5. 2-4 (+3) My Ball Zach Ertz. After completing a blockbuster trade with Dave this past week Buttons' season is starting to look up. Cam, Devonta, Le'Veon will continue to lead his team and I wouldn't be surprised if Landry starts to become a real factor if the running game in Miami can start opening up the pass. Button didn't even start a TE this week after trading away Greg Olson and still got a win over Joe D's pitiful squad. Torrey Smith, who everyone hated on Button for starting, got a solid 13.6 and with Kaepernick as the QB, his value may sky-rocket. This matchup of Nick and Button might be the sleeper game of the week next week.
6. 2-4 (-1) Drink it in, Maaan/The Avengers/Timmy O's (that loser cereal, that's for pack mules, son I need to achieve!) Do or die for Dave's season this upcoming week. He has yet another opportunity to take down one of the fantasy giants that loom over the league. Let's see how clutch our former champion can really be when you don't have a plethora of superstar talent on his team. But how bad is it in the St. Leger camp? The TE he just traded for is on bye, his backup TE is out, his starting QB is out and he has no answer for a defense. Melvin Gordon and Odell really need to shine for Dave to have a chance, and guys like Jordan Matthews, Eddie Lacy, and Mark Ingram needs to just do better. Dave's one advantage looking forward is that he is only 1 game out of the playoffs, all he has to do is not let his pride get ahead of him and pray to god that his players score some goddamn touchdowns. Also, maybe, pick a team name and stick with it.
7. 2-4 (0) TIME 4 TRUMP. Not much to say about Big Dave's Team. His roster had a pedestrian day but he still came out with a win which is exactly the type of games that you need to be successful in fantasy. Nick had an off week and Big Dave's team did enough to get by. At 2-4 he also is one game out of the playoffs and with guys like Murray and Julio he can easily make a run at it. However, there are also three other teams sitting at 2-4 and two at 3-3. Seeing Big Dave overcome the odds and end up in the playoffs seems just too much of a stretch at this point. Playing against Dan next week could spark some real momentum or kill it entirely. This is one game Big Dave just has to win.
8. 2-4 (-2) Pure Evil. I really stole the enthusiasm my dad had for Fantasy Football this past week. He didn't even want to look at the score, think about the score, and didn't even get excited when his players performed surprisingly well. James White, who I thought was gonna get close to nothing scored two TD's and Coby Fleener had a rare rushing one. Matt Jones also played incredibly. Upcoming weeks seem dismal for my father though. His plays Justin, Big Dave who is on the rise, Joey Burton who is also on the rise, Eric, Justin again, and David. I cant see my dad winning more that 5 games this year especially with such a weak and inconsistent lineup. At least he still has Friends of Fran and FanDuel to keep his interest.
9. 3-3 (0) A Team Has No Name. I refuse to allow Dan past 9 on this list until he scores more than 90. These are Dan's totals this year: 77.8, 76.6, 76.6, 77.4, 70.3, 76.4. The last two he recorded wins with. This list is about how strong a team looks and Dan's team just wins by default and having the other team just shit the bed. Mathematically he has the best chance outside of the top four to get in, but there is no way I can see that happen short of a miracle.
10. 1-5 (0) Morgan Top Dave Bottom. The poor get poorer after dropping another game this week. Our "champ" moves into sole possession of last place. He got beat while the other team had an empty roster spot, how embarrassing. At this point, if I was Joe, I would be taking that belt to the movies, out to dinner, or on some extravagant Caribbean vacation. His chance at having a repeat year is slim to none. McCoy is still an amazing draft choice and before the trade deadline Joe should think about trading him and getting a boatload of pieces to fill his roster with. That belt deserves one last ditch effort from a seemingly fluke title reign by Joe Digrazio.
