General Guidelines
By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by the rules of this competition.
RYSE reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to use the name, information and photographs of the participants without obtaining any consent from the participants or providing any payment whatsoever to the participants for non-commercial endeavors, publicity advertising, trade or promotion purposes in any format or media now known, or hereafter, devised throughout the world in perpetuity.
RYSE reserves the right to request written proof of age and/or identity of any participants including the winner. Where no such written proof is produced, or the entrant is not of the requisite age, RYSE may at its discretion disqualify the participants.
By entering this competition, participants hereby warrant that all information submitted are true, current and complete. RYSE reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants and disqualify an participants for submitting false information.
The personal data collected will be processed by RYSE to administer participants participation in this competition. By entering this competition, participants are giving consent to RYSE to use the information for its purposes. RYSE will take all the physical, technical and organisational measures needed to ensure security and confidentiality of the participants’s personal data provided.
RYSE reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition or the rules at its sole discretion and without notice. Any changes will be an amendment to the terms and conditions of the competition.
RYSE reserves the right to disqualify any participants if it has reasonable grounds to believe the participants is not eligible or has otherwise breached any of the competition rules.
In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the competition, the decision of RYSE shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
The competition and the rules are and will be governed by Malaysian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
Participants should note that the organiser does not accept responsibility for the safekeeping or return of any entries. Participants should, therefore, ensure to retain a copy of their entry for their own records.
Prizes
Prizes are non-transferable. RYSE reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value at any time at its sole discretion.
Prizes are awarded at the RYSE’s discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any participant. RYSE (acting reasonably) reserve the right not to select a winner if entries are not of the requisite standard.
In the event that any competition winner is subsequently disqualified from a competition for any reason, RYSE in its sole discretion may decide whether a replacement winner should be selected in accordance with the competition criteria.
RYSE reserves the first right of refusal for printing of winning postcard design.
Student Category
Participants must be a Malaysian citizen, aged between 16 to 18 years old at the time of submission.
Participants who are staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation or a direct family member of a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation can participate but are not be eligible to win the cash prizes.
Participants age 17 and under are required to obtain consent from their parents or guardian to participate.
Young Adult Category
Participants must be a Malaysian citizen, aged between 19 to 28 years old at the time of submission.
Participants who are staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation or a direct family member of a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation can participate but are not be eligible to win the cash prizes.
All entries should be submitted on/before the closing date on 12th November 2021 at 11:59 p.m. All late submissions will not be acknowledged.
Entries that are incomplete, unclear or illegible will be automatically disqualified.
Maximum two entries per participant.
Each entry must include:
An official submission form, duly filled in.
The complete postcard design in JPEG only.
A summary/abstract of the postcard design not more than 50 words.
The message not more than 250 words.
Participants must include the Tauke Talks session number that inspired their postcard design in the submission form..
General Content Guidelines
Entry must be the original, genuine, and authentic work of the participant. The entry and any information submitted must not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or any other rights of any third party.
Postcard design must portray Taukes from Tauke Talks series hosted by RYSE. We will not accept postcard design of any other entrepreneur or business.
Text content such as names and quotes are allowed, it must be related to the tauke chosen from the Tauke Talks series. Name and quotes are only allowed if mentioned by the tauke in their respective Tauke Talks session.
Entry must be unpublished works (this includes content published on blogs or any other website publications including various social media websites).
Refrain from including any types of restricted content (and not limited to):
nudity, profanity or vulgar behaviour;
graphic violence, or any inappropriate materials as determined by RYSE, in their sole discretion;
dangerous stunts;
real weapons of any kind; drug use;
material that is hateful, tortuous or slander;
material that promotes prejudice, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination or exploitation based on race, sex, religion, disability, age or any other basis protected by law; and
material that is likely to cause offence to any person, or to injure the name, reputation or standing of any person in any way, directly or indirectly.
Be in either Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin only.
Artwork Format & Requirements
Please adhere to these regulations:
Submission should be in JPEG in the highest quality only.
Postcard design must be in the measurement of 15cm X 15cm, 1:1 ratio, a perfect square
Digital design must be exported in the highest resolution, 300dpi, CMYK.
Postcard design that are hand-drawn should be scanned for the best resolution.
Postcard design can be produced digitally or hand-drawn, no picture medium is allowed.
Postcard design can be in black and white or/and coloured.
All entries must be soft copy. RYSE does not accept hard copy designs.
Message Format and Requirements
Please adhere to these regulations:
The message can be in either English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
The topic of the message must be about “How did the Tauke inspire you?”.
The message must start with ‘Dear Tauke,’.
The message must be not more than 250 words. The beginning template ‘Dear Tauke’ does not count within the 250 words.
Language must be family-friendly.
The message must be original and not quoted from other authors, you may quote the Taukes.
Please refer to the INFO DECK (STUDENTS) or INFO DECK (YOUNG ADULTS) for examples and template guideline.
All judging decisions are final and appeal will not be entertained.
The committee will check details concerning the eligibility of the authors and the manuscripts submitted.
Only postcard design of the participants who meet the criteria will be accepted and qualified to enter the judging round.
RYSE (acting reasonably) reserves the right to remove or amend selection criteria and/or the structure and operation of the competition if entries are not of the requisite standard.
RYSE team will have full jurisdiction to mark participants’ postcard design according to the rubrics set. RYSE reserves to uphold information and explanation of the marks if they see fit.
