Rudiments 1 through 15 can be considered "roll" rudiments. They are simple, repetitive patterns that do not involve paradiddles or ornaments such as flams and drags.

Alternating single strokes.
"Sin-gles, sin-gles," etc.
A series of four single strokes played in the rhythm shown.
"Sin-gle stroke four, sin-gle stroke four"
A series of seven single strokes played in the rhythm shown.
"Sin-gle stroke sev-en and stop"
Alternating multiple bounce strokes.
"Buzz, buzz," etc.
Alternating patterns of three strokes per hand.
"Trip-uh-let, trip-uh-let," etc.
Alternating double strokes.
"2 4 6 8" etc.
Two double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
"2 4 5!"
An accented note followed by a five stroke roll. Note that this is the ONLY numbered roll that starts this way!
"1 3 5 6!"
Three double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
"2 4 6 7!"
Four double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
"2 4 6 8 9!"
Four double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release and an additional accented note. Note that this is the ONLY number double-stroke roll that ends this way!
"2 4 6 8 9 10!"
Five double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
"2 4 6 8 10 11!"
Six double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
"2 4 6 8 10 12 13!"
Seven double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
"2 4 6 8 10 12 14 15!"
Eight double strokes followed by an accented single stroke release.
