This part of the website goes over aspects of playing that are UNIQUE TO DRUMMING. These are important for percussionists to learn and require significant practice, especially since your director might not always go over the finer details while rehearsing with the whole band.

These exercises assume the player has a basic, foundational understanding of how to read music and rhythms. If you have any questions, be sure to ask your director!

The "Challenge" exercises at the end of each lesson have percussion ensemble backing tracks, and could potentially be played using multiple instruments and people.
