Session 1

Session 1: Breaking Chains

Played on 11-19-21

The party awakens in a stone chamber, no one having any idea how they got there. Each member chained to the floor, in a room full of strangers. As Calysta, Tair and Kewaa begun to awaken they noticed a puddle of a suspicious red liquid on the floor as well as a puddle of it leading out of the chamber. Upon waking Seere, not being a fan of his restraints, forcefully ripped the chains out of the stone floor As the rest of the group began to stir and awaken everyone began hearing a commotion coming from a chamber above them.

As the commotion grew louder a body was eventually flung across the doorway as a new figure made of metal appeared. Tair seemed to know of this man and said his name was Dent. Using nothing but his bare hands he broke open a heavy steel door preventing the group from escaping and then produced a key to free the party from their bindings. The was very little in the way of introductions. With the group keen on escaping, Dent lead the party to a large chamber that housed some less than friendly faces.

After quickly suiting up, grabbing their weapons, the party was quickly thrust into combat. Most of these aggressive creatures seemed to be the product of some less than successful experiments, to an unknown end. Throughout the battle, several hearts being ripped out, and some incredible persuasion the party managed to take out these constructs one by one. After a long and deadly battle, and Felix dealing the final blow (and earning the campaign's first "How do you want to do this") the party was able to escape the clutches of captivity.

The party gave burial rights to the remains of what is left before them and exited the underground dwelling. As they walked outside Peter and Felix did manage to spot an old faded sign mounted on the stone wall, "The Grimstone Mining Co" Dent then began making the plan for the long walk back to Greywall.
