Dragon One Shot

Plot

After returning from their first adventure, our party meets at the Green Dragon Tavern to discuss what their next adventure should be. While trying to decide, they hear wind and the city stirring. They watch as an ancient red dragon fly's over the city, setting massive sections of it on fire. They rush to escape the city, but on their way out they start to hear voices and screaming coming from a building on their path. They look to see that it was the Platinum Dragon orphanage set ablaze, clearly with children still inside. Uhtred and Fork rushed into the building while Jerminia and Soup Bowl waited outside to watch for the dragon. Fork ended up finding two children on the second floor, after narrowly avoiding a large hole in the floor. Meanwhile on the third floor Uhtred manages to catch a large wooden beam that would have crushed him before finding a small red teifling child hiding in a closet. This child, Penelope, took an immediately liking to to Uhtred and would not leave his side.

As the party tired to leave the city, they saw that the entrance was blocked of by many many men in dark black cloaks. Watching from a distance, they saw these men take an older dwarven man from line and load him onto a cart that then took off towards the center of the city, After much deliberation they decided to risk going through the line, and everyone sucsessfully made it through. Everyone except for Penelope, who was taken by a regretful guard who told Uhtred to "follow the flames." The party decided to follow the series of silver grafitti all the way to the center of town, where the dragon had been seen landing many times.

Once there, the party saw a stange platofrom that seemed to be almost purpose built for the occation. They saw the older dwarven man chained to this platform and anothjer man in a black cloak standinf over him. This man had a large flame insignia on the back of his cloak. The dragon made another landing, and quickly but brutally devowered the man. The dragon then seemed to ask for something "younger" before flying away. The cloaked man quickly went to a lower floor and retireved Penelope and began chaining her to the platform. The party then battled 4 of these cloaked figures and 2 of the more powerful cloaked figures before finally releasing Penelope from the chains and escaping the city.

Penelope stayed with the party after that, and after confirming that Uhtred was her father. They entered the Green Dragons annual "Dragons Breath" drinking competition and took first place. Penelope eventually learned to be skilled in the ways of steath and archery on her adventures with her dad, and also earned the nickname "Ladybug."
