Sequencing Technology
Sabeena Nazar is a Ph.D. student in the lab of Dr. Allen Place as well as a Senior Faculty Research Assistant for the BAS lab at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology. She sequences the majority of samples produced by facilities at IMET with a variety of technologies including Oxford Nanopore's PromethION and Illumina's NextSeq systems. Her doctoral work focuses on devising methods to sequence alternative bases in genomes.
