Guests enter a Chinese palace similar in appearance to Feng Ju Palace at Phantasialand. Once they enter, guests come upon a Chinese style theater with a large stage. After a few minutes, a curtain rises, revealing three magicians. They introduce themselves as Xia, guardian of Huo (Fire), Shang, guardian of Shi (Water), and Zhou, guardian of Tu (Earth). They are practitioners of Wu Xing, or Elemental magic. The magicians continue on, telling guests that this palace is cursed due to their actions. The stage then changes to a shadow puppet stage to tell the story of the curse. Long ago in China, the Jade Emperor descended from heaven and told the three magicians to travel to Greece and return with The Golden Apple Of Discord. They then used their elemental powers to travel all the way from China to Greece. They arrived in Delphi, where the Oracle told them the following, “Those who are brave, those who won't fear will journey on and be welcomed back here.
Better be wise, lest you be cursed. Three will venture, all on their first. A horrific quest will lead you along, until you find that which you seek, which was once the cause of a heavenly rift.” The magicians were confused but were soon transported to a cave filled with statues with fearful faces. A woman dwelled within the cave and she introduced herself as Medusa. She had hair made of snakes. Soon, we noticed that her gaze was turning us into stone. Xia found a mirror shield and held it to her eyes, turning her to stone. Next, they traveled to the Labyrinth of Crete, filled with false passages and statues of gods holding items. Shang took a pair of winged sandals from Hermes. The statues’ eyes turned red and water gushed from their mouths. Shang then used his water manipulation skills to make a clear path out of the labyrinth, but it only went deeper and deeper into the earth. Soon they were greeted by a hooded figure on a boat. Zhou asked him where the magicians were and the hooded man replied that they were at the River Styx in the Underworld. Persephone greeted the magicians as she held back the 3 headed dog called Cerberus. She motioned the magicians to enter the gates of the underworld and enter The Palace Of Hades
As soon as they entered, they saw Hades seated upon his throne. He told the magicians to throw their golden drachmas into the fountain or be devoured by hellhounds. The magicians threw the coins into the fountain and ended up in the ocean, where they were riding Hippocampi, horse-fish hybrids. The ride continued until they reached Mount Olympus. The magicians ascended the great mountain, entering a great throne room with a large hearth with a fire at the center and a ceiling painted with constellations. Soon, three beautiful women entered, Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. Hera then waved her hand and summoned a golden apple. She said, “This is the Golden Apple of Discord. It represents the beauty of its owner, and if someone should give it to another person, the giver acknowledges the recipient to be the fairest, most lovely person in the universe. Eris, the goddess of discord, created it to symbolize the root of an argument...how a seemingly insignificant issue often stems from underlying and greater problems. This fruit even started the Trojan War. We three Olympians, Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, fought each other to be the rightful owner of the apple. It was last gifted to Aphrodite by Paris who stole away Helen of Sparta upon the promise they would fall in love. Paris was asked by Zeus to judge which of us was the fairest.
Now it is time for ZHOU to be the judge. Who is worthy of this sacred fruit?” Zhou gazed at the stars then down at a table of goddess names. This caused his dyslexia to become severe. The alphabet became scrambled, but Zhou chose Hestia because he saw her name spelled out the star Thuban, which was glowing brightly that night, with his dyslexia. This caused the other goddesses to curse the magicians, saying, “Nowhere in your own home, nor anywhere in the world shall thou find rest or peace, now that thou hath violated Olympus. Only when a noble person with the clean conscience of a new born child will enter your dwelling, shall thou find peace in your home and in your heart!” We returned to our palace to find the place a house of horrors! Immediately, we used an ancient spell to summon the four guardians of the directions, the Black Tortoise of The North, the Vermilion Bird of The South, the Azure Dragon of The East, and the White Tiger of The West. The magicians told the beasts what happened and they agreed to help.
However, they needed kind people to release their positive energy into the palace to banish the curse. That is why guests are here. Guests are told to continue and they exit the theater and enter a series of rooms where the curse is in action. Guests immediately get sprayed with mist as they exit. The first thing is a fax machine printing faxes. Due to this being Imperial China both the machine and messages are from the future. Guests follow a red rope to a room full of messages in Morse Code. Guests will then come upon wooden ducks of all species. Next, guests come upon a prison cell with a chalk outline and writing on the wall that says THEY DID IT. There is an animatronic prisoner that asks guests if they know who took out his friend. He has security footage playing on a TV behind him that, in actuality, is showing a reference to The Shawshank Redemption. Finally, guests enter the madhouse, done up in the style of a Chinese Banquet Hall. They are given safety instructions before the lap bars descend and the music of Feng Ju Palace begins to play and the room spins, with projections of flames, waves, rocks, and the celestial beasts playing on the walls. After a few minutes, the room stops spinning and guests exit.
