Inspired by one of the most distinctly "80s" films in the Disney canon, the Grid will invite guests to enter into the world of Tron and compete for dominance in the ultimate laser tag arena.
The exterior will be modelled after an Encom lab (the computer manufacturer from the films). As guests enter they are transported into the neon world of The Grid. Guests will be able to choose what distinct arena they wish to play in:
The Solar Sailer or The End of Line Club.
The Solar Sailer is aimed for all ages and is modelled as a vehicle storage center. The visuals are somewhere between Legacy and the original film. Lightcycles, Recognizers, and Solar Sailers fill the space and act as obstacles.
The End of Line Club is aimed at those looking for a challenge in the arena. It is centered around the nightclub from Tron Legacy. On busy nights, this laser tag arena even has a live DJ in the center of it playing 80's hits from artists like Madonna to George Michael!
Overall, the distinct, iconic visual style of the Tron franchise will lend itself perfectly to an exciting laser tag arena for all ages. The Grid: Laser Tag Arena will open at the same time as a new, soon to be announced Tron mini series for Disney+ and help reinvigorate the franchise as well as help launch the new, 80s inspired Lights District at Disney Springs.
