Transnational Affairs
After many delays, and the frustration of many, CivReign finally launched a little after 5PM on the 24th of February, 2023. Several resets would initially occur due to low TPS, and other problems emerged, such as the strange deterioration of leaves, and a lack of land animals. However, the server also launched with more than 90 players, being immensely successful for the admins. These include Cortwade, Rektangle, Kannon, Aidan and Owain_X, the developer of CivRev.
The server launches with a number of new features compared to previous servers. Both alt-accounts and botting has been banned, one of the most extreme developments for the genre. There have also been many tweaks made to progression with the inclusion of new ores, to create a more balanced progression. Amongst the changes is a brewery-expansion (to the delight of Brewyern), bird nests, PVP tweaks, a supposed 'auto-pot overhaul', seasons, speed buffs for overground rails and more.

Many nations were present even before the start of the world. Familiar faces returned such as Norlund, Mount Augusta, Gensokyo, Kallos and more. A number of new nations also joined the fray, such as Laurentia, Fomhar, Mount Ida, Pol'sha-Litva, etc.
Domestic Affairs
The initial government of the Laurentian Republic was set in place shortly before the world's launch. Britisher (also known as 'Cupar' or 'Cuppy') was to be made the first Doge of the Republic. Him and Alexis/Zhirall have made it clear that their government will be, quote, 'dictators the first day'. They have stated to prioritize finding a proper starting location, and making advanced XP.
They have both promises not to run for the first election, which has been placed two weeks after the launch of the server. To produce the first High Council of Laurentia, Zhirall will produce a spreadsheet, on which all player's contributions will be written. These will range from grinding, building, exploring, designing builds, RP and more. The most-efficient players may be given seats on the first High Council.
The Constitution was also revealed. Five initial noble titles were created, from lowest to highest; Baron, Viscount, Marquis/Margrave, Prince and Archduke. A citizen can be made a noble by the power of the restricted council; which is one half of the Grand Council. The Constitution vaguely applies it to 'only the highest aristocratic titles, and the doge'. It has a one month veto over any legislation passed by the second half, which consists of all nobility within the Republic.
The process has also been laid out for Doge elections. Thereforth, during a plebiscite for the Doge, all citizens are gauranteed one vote. Monetary contributiosn to the treasury may earn the player 1-3 more ballots, depending on the amount. While all nobility may run to be a Doge, they need the support of at least one member of the Restricted Council, and two from the Larger Forum. Elections will occur every six weeks.
Both leaders have warned the playerbase NOT to make mapping information, nor the location of the Laurentian settlement, public. SOTW information has been trusted to the Nouren Forum, which includes Norlund and Courron, potential allies of the state.

On launch day, a policy was made of exploring west of -2000X, or east of 2000X, staying far from 0,0, where conflicted was expected. As promised, Zhirall did lead with a semi-dictatorial spirit, demanding that players send /rb data. The player base remained separated both in game, often swimming across oceans alone, but also separated into two or three different voice channels.
However, a land was indeed found for Laurentia, nearby friendly nations. A city is expected to be built, as well as factories and farms, as eagerly told by the leadership. Claims are still being discussed by them. A cult, er, religion, was already started, worshipping a statue of 'Forg'; a frog diety. Players are enthusiastically motivated to throw an iron ingot into the hopper in front of the frog, as an offering. Where that money goes is unknown.
