Okx Back...and gone again?
Just a day after the last issue went out, Okx has already been unbanned. He had been appealing to the devs, so it seems that he won them over, and succeeded in becoming unbanned. Okx and Doomweaver celebrated this by immediately going to raid the Laurentian capital, however, were killed and repulsed. Further details are explained in the Domestic Affairs section below.
However, after going to raid Courran, it seems they left the server. Both left the discord, having seemingly abandoned CivReign. Why this happened is unknown. When Doom_Weaver was asked if it was true, he simply replied, "where did you hear that from?" Nothing else was said from him. Meanwhile, when asking the discord, dev Ttastic said, "I probably wouldn't worry about them." So, honestly, it seems up in the air.
Above, just a funny picture.
To the right, an amazing meme I would feel sad leaving out. Full credits here to learn about The Okx Piece, looking forward to the next thousand episodes of that.
Reddit Survey
A three-day survey was conducted by the Dispatch on the subreddit, ending today. It asked players how they felt about the state of the server, with three possible options. Over 100 people answered, providing a sample size with a fair share of public opinion. Thank you all so much to everyone who participated and, in general, everyone who reads the paper!
The survey ended with a plurality of the vote showing approval. However, a majority amount of the playerbase either answered with split or negative opinion. A selection of comments written below helped explain these answers;
"Tin is like the crack and im the crackhead." u/coolmanabdul
"The server is at a good spot, just a 'low' playercount, although it still seems to be on par with civmc. The question will be how successful the as of now postponed advertisement will be and if they'll reach the same turnaround Realms managed to get." u/Raven_Mc, whose comment said more, and I think it's an interesting read.
"I think the progression is good, feels accomplishing and the balance is just nicer than other civ servers imo. People expecting end game gear in a day or two of grinding are unrealistic." u/itspodly
A fantastic comment was made by Juniortide, describing his view of the server, and his disapointment. It's a very in depth comment, and even if you don't agree, it's a great read. Boywar3 chimes in as well. While it's too long to post here, you can view it through this link. I'd highly recommend doing so.

First Public Claims
The server's first public claims have finally come out. Most nations have kept their claims secret, or perpetuated the cycle of "our's will be public when others are". However, the Gamer Empire broke that trend by posting their claims on the discord. Yooklid posted them on behalf of the Gamer Khan, DeepBlu3.
However, the claims didn't come without controversy. Several players mentioned how this claim overclaimed, with KingoftheMochas saying it overclaimed at least three nations, inluding ThePayman's homestead.
Laurentia followed suite by making it's claims public, with a fantasy map to the right. No matter what happens to The Gamer Empire, they seemed to have at least kickstarted the release of public claims.
Domestic Affairs
Raiders Defeated in Serena!
At 7:38AM (EST), Laurentia was informed by a diplomat that Okx and Doom_Weaver were raiding Serena, the Laurentian capital. Okx was only recently unbanned, so this came as a surprise. However, the Laurentian forces quickly ran into action.
Nobleman Asgeir quickly rode over on a Laurentian horse, and found the two breaking doors and chests. Meemai spawned into Serena, and was killed, having to re-gear and re-approach. While waiting for reinforcements, he rode around the city on his horse and distracted them from the city's hidden valuables. Upon seeing Meemai and Drekamor approaching, Okx and Doom_Weaver began fleeing east, and the Laurentians pursued. They were pursued deep northeast into the mountains, were the battle took place. It's events have been recreated below, based upon screenshots and replays taken by Asgeir.
The two raiders are cornered in a mountainside by the County of Calenardhorn, and chased up it, where fighting begins.
2 (Above). Okx loses his horse.
3 (Below). Doom_Weaver defends Okx as they run.
4/5: Asgeir engages Doom_Weaver while Okx continues running.
6. Okx and Doom_Weaver descend down the mountainside, with Laurentians in pursuit.
7. Drekamor rushes ahead and kills Doom_Weaver on their last horse. However, Meemai is the only one with a pearl.
8. Okx flees alone.
9. Okx places reinforced stone as he flees. In the far back behind Drekamor, Meemai can be seen, having gone back to recover a horse in order to chase.
Although the raiders were not pearled, the Raid of Serena was a decided-defeat for the raiders. Laurentia proved that it was capable of defending itself and it's cities. Meemai, Drekamor and Asgeir9 all made themselves Laurentian heroes in their actions. Whether the raiders return to Laurentia is yet to be seen, as they seemingly switched focus to Courran, which they raided at around 3PM on the same day. As discussed in the Transational News section, it seems they also might've left the server.

10/11/12. (Above, Below, & Sub-Below) Asgeir chases in front, with Meemai quickly approaching on horseback, on the last good Laurentian horse. In order to prevent the horse from being killed, Asgeir9 killed Okx himself, although this unfortunately meant not pearling the raider.
Bstallio, Count of Gildartes Point
Bstallio Gains Key Endorsements
Bstallio (Discord; Gillaeous) has gained several key endorsements, being nominated by several other nobles. Baron Meemai first endorsed him, followed by Archduke Zhirall. Doge Cuppy I followed swiftly in endorsing him, giving him an endorsement trifecta of three influential and important players. No one else, as of time of writing, has tried to run. It is yet to see if anyone will. Most nobles have not nominated anyone. The election is scheduled on the 18th, so there is still time for more candidates.

National Development
A lot of development has been ongoing in Laurentia! Many more builds have been made on the creative building server, which are planned to be in the capital. After the Raid of Serena, some have floated the idea of rebuilding Laurentia with the creative builds. The constructions currently there were always meant to be temporary anyways.
The landed Nobles of Laurentia, Asgeir9 and Bstallio, have also begun developing their land. Nobles have a responsibility to develop their land, to make it more productive. Asgeir9 began clearing land in his County of Calenardhon, paving the way for more land. He also built one of the biggest wheat farms in the nation here.
Bstallio is in charge of Gildartes Point, an island northwest of Serena. However, his building has caused mild controversy amongst the Axolotlite religion. To them, Gildartes Point is called Islasu, a sacred site, and the first piece of land ever made by their god. It's red cliffs are particularly revered. Despite light protests by the small religious community, Bstallio continues ahead with his island-developments.
Laurentia Curbs Tin Prices
Due to the high demand, tin prices have been seeing rising inflation. Archduke Zhirall issued a foreign statement today, in response to these rising prices. He capped all Laurentian exchanges to a maximum of 4:1 for copper:tin exchanges, and promised that the market would be open globally soon. He also made statements that Laurentia was unwilling to accept economic 'exploitation' of friends and players, and that it would use it's industrial and economic might to rectify it.
However, shortly after being posted, Doge Cuppy I made a new comment rectifying it. He said that the statement was not approved by him, and deleted the original. While the 4:1 limit was retained, the wording was changed to be softer. When asked why he did this, Cupar said that the original had been "confrontational". For posterity's sake, in case of future comment-deletions, a screenshot is posted to the right. Both Pandastical and, more keyly, Doge candidate Bstallio opposed the change, potentially hinting at a more stalwart foreign policy in the future.
The reaction to this message has been mixed. The reddit post originally announcing it recieved a pleased "Based!" by one u/Lystry. However, a member of Courran (Laurentia's ally) named u/AdamTheHobbit left a friendly message describing the policy as unsustainable in the short-term and that no western nation would follow it. Zhirall responded by saying that the policy's goal was to 'flood' the market with cheap tin to lower prices, and that 4:1 was more-or-less the domestic Laurentian trade, rather than the international one. Pretoria has made a decree supporting the change though, restricting it's foreign copper trade exclusively to Laurentia.
