Many enemies and foes lie in wait in the dark corners of Azeroth, waiting to take advantage of the weak and vulnerable. The Jackdaws fight against these people, and often face their terrible schemes even in places they feel safe. Most of these interactions appear as 'sub-plots', which are minor storylines that are happening simultaneously to the main campaign - giving a variety of things to take part in, even if you can't attend consistent campaign nights.
Not every plotline is hosted by an officer of the guild, everyone may write and DM their own stories for others to get involved with, and allow these stories to interweave in the overarching plot of the guild. We believe in collaborative storytelling, and that means everyone gets to make their own contributions.
Campaigns are dedicated stories that take place among weekly events each Saturday night. These specific events are more comparable to Dungeons and Dragons, though we feature a very light rolling system - prioritising creative roleplay over what numbers you might roll. Each campaign story takes place ideally over the span of a month or two, though it's largely left to how things are developed by the players.
Following the terrible attack of a pack of feral worgen targetting a group of adventurers, the Jackdaws began as a group - with their first task being to capture this pack, and either bring them back to sanity... ...or put them down.
This campaign is still ongoing.
There are various groups across Azeroth that the Jackdaws come into contact with, with their own problems that they seek their help in conquering.
A Highborne family with roots traced back to the times way before War of Ancients - and rumoured to be related to one of the dragons since then, the traces of who have been lost during the Sundering.
The House and some of Jackdaws members have helped each other to find their lost ones in Dalaran crash - which looks as a start of a long and productive alliance?Â
Unless the secrets of the House stand in a way of it...
((If you think your character could know more about the House, you can add kariota on discord to talk details!))
Once upon a time Nynoliel Besso'Belorei has described a culture of friendly nerubians in the frosty wastes of Northrend - and a tribe of taunka who have been their contact with outside world.
Years after some of Jackdaws members have discovered that the book has been describing the truth - and the groups have helped each other against Void aligned nerubians in Azj-Kahet.
((If you think your character could know more about them, you can add kariota on discord to talk details!))
Antagonists are characters that will be recurring threats to the Jackdaws, whether that is in or out of our campaign session nights. They may have allies where you least expect them, interfering with the Jackdaws' goals or even social life. These characters feature their own storylines and problems, offering new puzzles for the Jackdaws to solve.
After the brutal kidnapping and torture of their friends, the Jackdaws have sworn revenge on a particular undead shadow user. However, after his sudden and untimely 'death' under specific circumstances... the Jackdaws now must track down a potential lich and his allies.
Once a powerful hemomancer living in Duskwood, posing as a helpful doctor offering 'free' services, now outed for the monster that she is. The Jackdaws believed that by trapping her soul in a dagger, her reign of terror would come to an end, but after someone stole the dagger that contained her... she must be captured again.
A mysterious Ethereal - an entity of pure Arcane magic - lurks where profits may be found, offering dubious offers and deals to the Jackdaws. But can they really trust them, given his past - and his affliction with the Void?
"The scarred one has raised the claw to turn the burning wheel”
Many years ago, a certain orc had made his choices - and paid the price for them.
Or so he thought...
How many more people will be crushed by the wheel before it is broken - and who else will use it to their advantage?
For the last while, the group has been plagued by some sort of mad scientist Vulpera, carrying around his disasterous 'Inventions' that cause chaos to otherwise normal evenings. His problem with the Jackdaws is unknown, despite how loudly he has declared them his rivals of centuries. Is he merely insane? Or is something more serious lurking?
