Aasimar are far more common in Lorem than in the past. During the Upheaval and in the immediate aftermath, which gates and portals were yawning across the multiverse, the denizens of the higher planes flooded Thimtona. Dalliances between mortals and the immortal naturally lead to Aasimar and devas bestowed blessings upon mortals that bred true in their scions. Aasimar generally born of humans parents.
Dwarves come in two flavors on the continent of Lorem:
Mountain Dwarves: Mountains Dwarves hailed original from Keldar that Was. There are a few Mountain Dwarf enclaves in that area, but they are small, sad towns. Outside of Keldar that was are a few Mountain Dwarf communities in large cities - including Fjord-Capital (Tulan), Dawin's Rest (Dawindar), and Capstalian. Today, the largest established home of Mountain Dwarves is Haz'Darad.
Hill Dwarves: Hill dwarves originally hail from what is now called Rockslide, a district divided between Mortengard and Yarma. The hill dwarves of Rockslide were largely subsumed by the mass exodus of the Mountain Dwarves as they settled Haz'Darad. Today, you may find some Hill Dwarves in Yarma, Ilisen, Fjord Capital, Radnerhof Plains, and Waymeet.
Elves on Lorem live in four distinct areas - Ardeg, Llothspren, Aer'sa Sylvanna, and Capstalian.
High Elves: Ardeg, Capstalian
Wood Elves: Ardeg, Capstalian
Drow: Ardeg, Llothspren
Wild Elves: Ardeg, Llothspren
Sha'dar Kai (Shadow Elves): In small numbers everywhere (note, for the purposes of Lorem, their backstory is different than vanilla D&D).
Elemental incursions around places of power were frequent in Thimtona. Such changes deeply affected those who survived, although, they were often surprised that it would affect their unborn children. Genasi come in four distinct types - air, earth, fire, and water. In Lorem, air, earth, and water genasi are the most common.
Air genasi are common among the nomadic Clans of the North.
Water genasi are common throughout Tulan, but particularly around the area of Overn Deep.
Earth genasi are common in eastern Dawindar, Mortengard, and Waymeet.
Fire genasi are fairly uncommon, owing to having very few fire incursions.
There are two key gnomish societies in Lorem - Yarma and Quareg.
Rock Gnomes live primarily in the rocky foothills of Yarma.
Forest Gnomes live primarily in Quareg.
The rock gnomes of Yarma are well known for their skill with artifice and Alchemy and are often found in large cities or traveling bands of merchants. Forest gnomes enjoy a good trip as much as anyone else, but the reclusive culture of Quareg means the freedom to travel must be earned.
Half-Elves are fairly uncommon outside of the realms of the Northern alliance, where refugees of the great Ardeg forest settled in with humans at the time of Dawin's Purge. In the years since, half elves have moved as needed to surive throughout all the realms of men.
Halflings thrive in their homelands of the Radnerhoff Plains. A curious folk, their travels take them far beyond their ancestoral homes such that they're common throughout Lorem.
Half-Orcs primarily live in Martok, where their social standing ranks more in terms of what they can do versus who their parents were. They periodically leave the shelter of Martok, but often find the racial animus of the wider human world depressing.
Humans are thrive everywhere in Lorem, although they're vitually unheard of in some of the more reclusive demi-human cultures of Haz'Darad, Ardeg, Llothspren, and Martok.
Orcs are largely from the deserts and highlands of Martok. They very rarely travel from their lands, except on missions of great import.
As the Aasmions and Archerons of the Upper Planes created the Aasamar, the Tanar'ri, Yugoloths, and Baatezu of the lower planes created tieflings. The folk with the heritage of the damned may have been the infernal offspring of deceptive tryst or a curse upon a particularly virtuous family. Tieflings are found throughout Lorem.
Yuan-ti of all sorts hail from Krita-thas-rass, the humid jungles on the south of the continent. The purebloods are often sent forth on missions of trade and 'purchase' a slave if they happen to see some of the 'kine' worth the food necessary to feed them.
