Heralds of the Wind

This bard college in the Ardeg serves three purposes. The first is as a keeper of record. Many elvish poets and balladeers compose great works recording current events. The heralds commit these works to memory and thus history.

Second, the Heralds are released to travel the world freely as gatherers of news and story. It was the Heralds that introduced the Shieldweavers to the Portal Keepers during the Upheaval, thus forging an alliance to close gates and portals that riddled parts of Lorem.

Third, the training that makes a good Herald eventually leads to a state of being able to sense the most probable future. The leader of the Heralds, the Tercanosúru, must demonstrate this ability before being given the control of the Heralds. The Tercanosuru is said to know how to speak with and hear from the very wind itself, bearing tidings from afar.

The bards of this college favor sung music, oratory, and woodwinds. It is said these bards can evoke the weather with their instruments. The Herald is the leader of the college and is said to know how to speak with and hear from the very wind itself, bearing tidings from afar.
