The Hillforts
The Hill Forts of the Radnerhof Plains are isolated resource extraction communities. Some mine, some farm, some mill lumber, some work the orchid claypits. They provide some protection from the wild life the prowls the ruins of once-great Talentine.
Occupants of the Hill Fort generally look somewhat exasperatedly upon the Wandering Folk, as they view them to be lacking responsibility and a strong work ethic. Still, it's not unheard of for a young lad or lass to drop everything as a caravan departs their fort and join up for a season or two.
The Hillforts generally lack accommodations for big folk, although, their greathalls are often built of sufficient dimensions to accommodate humans, dwarves, and elves.
The Wandering Folk
The Wandering Folk
The Wandering Folk of the Radnerhof are nomads who carry all they need in massive carts pulled by teams of whatever draft animals are convenient. Most caravans specialize in particular trades purpose - trading, performing, smithing, tailoring. Some caravans are small serve a societal purpose, like mendicants, judges, and holy people. Where two caravans meet, celebrations are held, trades are made, and eligible bachelors and bachelorettes are introduced. By societal edict, one does not marry into ones own caravan.
The Wandering Folk often pause outside major cities, hoping to trade goods before leaving. They roam as far north as the Icewall Mountains and as far south as the Fjord City of Tulan.
