⚠️ Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, pet groomers must not carry out invasive procedures on animals, which includes the expression of internal anal glands and teeth scaling with any form of instrument. Groomers must ensure teeth cleaning does not go beneath the gum line, which is deemed an invasive procedure.
Please note: Hand stripping is only suitable for specific coat types and dogs must not be clipped previously. A consultation is required beforehand.
Hand stripping is a grooming technique used for wire-haired and some silky-coated breeds to maintain the natural texture and color of their coat. Unlike clipping, which cuts the hair, hand stripping removes dead hair from the root, allowing a new, healthy coat to grow in its place.
This method helps preserve the coat’s weather-resistant properties, enhances coat texture, and promotes healthy skin. It’s commonly used for breeds like Border Terriers, Schnauzers, and Cocker Spaniels to maintain their traditional appearance and overall coat health.
Small to Medium Breeds (e.g. Border Terrier, Cairn, Westie) – from £40
Larger Breeds or Full Body Hand Strip – from £80–£100
A revitalising skin and coat treatment using CO2 tablets to support healing, reduce odour, and soothe irritation. Ideal for dogs with sensitive skin, hotspots, or dull coats.
A puppy introduction is a gentle, stress-free first experience at the grooming salon, designed to help young dogs get comfortable with the sights, sounds, and sensations of grooming.
It includes positive exposure to brushing, bathing, drying, nail trimming, and handling, all at a pace suited to your puppy’s comfort level.
Starting early helps prevent fear or anxiety later in life, making future grooming sessions easier and more enjoyable. Puppies can begin their introduction after their second vaccination and before they reach six months old.
At our grooming salon, we offer completely free confidence-building sessions for dogs of all ages and personalities.
A positive grooming experience starts with trust, and we’re happy to help your dog build it.
Duration: 30 minutes - 1 hour
During these relaxed visits, your dog can take their time to meet me, explore the salon, have a good sniff around, and get used to the sounds and gentle feel of the grooming equipment—all at their own pace.
There’s no pressure and no limit on how many sessions your dog can have. Whether they need one visit or several, we’re here to help them feel safe, calm, and comfortable before their first full groom.
