Stegoceras is a small herbivore dinosaur that is actively roaming around the world in The Dinodyssey. As an animal low in the food chain, Stegoceras tries to stay alive by running around the forest. In The Dinodyssey, it's an animal that's hard to track, but once you've caught up to its trail, it's very rewarding as there is a lot to learn about the whereabouts of this jumpy little animal.
Stegoceras was implemented at the same time as the picture mechanic. As an extra encouragement for the player to explore the world, the possibility to take pictures was added. Whenever the player gets close to a dinosaur, the narrator gives educational information on what that dinosaur is doing. The ability to take pictures serves as an extra incentive to get close to the dinosaurs, resulting in a natural way for the player to get more educated about the dinosaur.
