Lambeosaurus is the next dinosaur to be added to The Dinodyssey. The pictures for the bestiary have been created and the design has been finalized, so the only thing left is to create the final in-game model. It may seem like an easy task to create a dinosaur like this, but a lot of time and effort goes in the research, accuracy, and elaboration of the 3D-model. With the design finalized, the next steps are the stages of modeling, sculpting, texturing, materializing, rigging, animating, sound effects, narration and implementation. Once those steps are finished, the magnificent Lambeosaurus is ready to roam the riverside!
Lambeosaurus isn't a native inhabitant of the valley. In The Dinodyssey, Lambeosaurus will be passing by in a migrating herd. The herd has recently finished their annual feeding frenzy in the lush forests of the North Pole and is moving south to avoid the harsh northern winter. To illustrate that Lambeosaurus has been feasting in the northern forests, its design features a big bulk of fat on its back. This bulk acts as a nice cushion of reserves for the inhospitable parts of the migration, just like the humps of modernday camels. The biggest challenge of the creation of Lambeosaurus is the fact that it's not just one dinosaur, but an entire herd. The models should reflect a social lifestyle with sexual dimorphism and animals of a range of ages and sizes, so that's promising to be quite an extensive task.
