*Violations may incur severe fines and penalties that may be deducted from your deposit.

  • Sea Ranch quiet-hours are from 9pm to 7am daily. Always, and especially during Quiet Hours, please conduct your indoor and outdoor activities in a prudent and respectful manner that will not be disturbing to our neighbors. This includes noise from entertainment or sound systems, use of machinery or other equipment.

  • No Drone Zone: The entirety of The Sea Ranch is a No-Drone zone, including private lots and yards. Please leave your drones at home.

  • Smoking restrictions: As a matter of fire safety and public health: Smoking of any material by any means is prohibited on all association owned properties, including common areas, trails, and facilities. At private homes, please take care not ·to allow secondhand smoke, vapor, or odor to disturb others on neighboring properties or commons.

  • Respect our Night Skies community: The Sea Ranch values and protects its natural night skies. Excessive nighttime lighting can become a nuisance. To reduce transmission of inside light (including light from televisions and computer screens) to the outside, please consider shielding light sources and/or closing blinds. shades or curtains as appropriate, and turning off exterior lighting when not using the illuminated area.

  • Pet Etiquette: To protect wild life and avoid nuisances, all dogs must be under the owner's control at all times. Leash is required when on the roads and trails, The Sea Ranch commons and even in non-enclosed yards. Please minimize barking or howling, and always clean up after your dog.

  • Driving and Parking Violations: Speed limit on Hwy 1 is 50mph unless otherwise instructed by speed restriction signs. The speed limit drops to 25mph as soon as you turn from Hwy 1 onto any of The Sea Ranch roads. Parking is only permitted for authorized vehicles that display their parking permits prominently on their vehicles. Look for parking decals in the house manual. HOA regulations prohibit parking of vehicles along the side of streets and roads.

  • Privacy and Trespassing: We urge you to respect the protected and private spaces within Sea Ranch even when they aren't enclosed or marked that way. As a best practice, always stay along the designated trails and pay heed to the signs that are placed for your own safety. Certain areas along the coast are designated habitats under recovery. Others are cordoned off due to excessive erosion. Also, consider driveways and yards of other residents as off limits unless invited.

  • Use of association facilities: Owners and guests must produce a valid pass and proof of identification upon request, for accessing association facilities such as the recreation centers, libraries etc.

  • Do not feed wild animals. Always stow garbage in the designated bins and lock the enclosures. And remember to clean up after yourself when enjoying food or beverages outdoors.

The Cottontail is also our home. So we have a few, simple, easy to follow rules to make your stay hassle free.

House Rules

No Smoking | No Pets | No Shoes | No Parties | No unregistered guests | Monitor Children | Dispose waste responsibly | See Details ...

*Non adherence may incur deductions from your security deposit.

  • Monitor Children: The house is set up more for adults than children. We request that children under 12 years be under adult supervision at all times.

  • No Smoking & No Pets: To keep our home inviting for our guests, we adhere to a no smoking, no pets policy. The owners are allergic to pet dander.

  • No Shoes: To ensure we keep the floorboards squeaky clean for our guest's enjoyment, we have a no-shoes policy inside our home. We like to think of it as bringing the beach to the house (only without the sand!)

  • Recycling and garbage disposal: We highly request that you comply with the sorting best practices for compost, recycling and landfill as recommended by Recology. Failure to do so may incur fines which will be deducted from your deposit. In the lower pull out cabinet immediately to the right of the kitchen sink, you will find designated bins for landfill (front) and recycling (back). The garbage pickup bins are placed in the closet immediately adjacent to the propane tank in the garage port. When they are full, or before you checkout, please deposit the contents of the kitchen bins to the corresponding pickup bins. Given that owners are part timers at the Sea Ranch, we recommend that guests returning home carry compost along with them and deposit it in their owned compost bins. Those who aren't returning home, can deposit the compost in a separate bag in the trash bin.

  • Follow hot tub etiquette: Always shower thoroughly with soap and water before and after using the hot tub. Avoid using hot tub if you're not feeling well. No eating or drinking when using the hot tub. Use the available hot tub towels.

  • Accidental damage: We understand that accidents happen. So all we ask is that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible which also means better chances of having your full security deposit returned back to you too.

  • No guests other than those on the reservation: We appreciate your desire to share your joy and even welcome you to invite friends over for a casual drink or dinner. However, we request that you avoid any overnight guests other than those on the reservation. Failure to do so, may incur additional guests fees being deducted from your deposit.

  • No use of glass outdoors: It is a treat to enjoy your favorite beverage as you soak in the sun or gaze at the stars. The home is provisioned with silicone and BPA free polymer glasses should you wish to indulge.

  • Do not feed wild animals. Always stow garbage in the designated bins and lock the enclosures. And remember to clean up after yourself when enjoying food or beverages outdoors.
