Who we are: The Gift of Learning is a tutoring organization with roots in several countries including India, Bangladesh, and Canada. Founded by four teenagers, our goal is to enrich students, in grades 1-10, across the globe and give them access to free, one-on-one education during this unprecedented time. As students ourselves, we aim to pass on the knowledge we have gained to the younger generation. We provide tutoring and one-time help in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Art. Our organization runs on extremely dedicated volunteer workers who only want the best for the students they tutor. Furthermore, we have started hosting live seminars with professionals such as doctors and engineers to inspire and educate our students from the comfort of their own homes. 

To us, tutoring is the best way to give back to our community as it has a direct impact on others. The pandemic may have temporarily embezzled education from the spotlight, but we are determined to ensure that education becomes a top priority for the future generation. After all, they are our subsequent generation, and it is our job to provide all the resources they need to build a better future for all of us.

While it seems like tutoring may just be an excuse to get service hours, it's actually quite the opposite. Many tutors build bonds with the students they work with. After eight sessions, our students become our friends, and we become mentors they can rely on. The students and their tutors will continue to grow and foster their relationships into something beautiful.

Short Biography:The Gift of Learning was founded by four high schoolers who are dedicated to enriching the knowledge of children nationwide. Although they started in Northern Virginia, these four founders, Arya Nalavade, Shivangi Gosain, Eesha Kulkarni, and Amruta Rajeev, slowly began expanding their horizons. Soon, applications were coming in internationally! Registrations were coming in from students in Bangladesh, Canada, and even India! Currently, the organization has reached more than 150 tutors and students, and we are thrilled to welcome more students and teachers into our program.

Organization (Motto, Goal, Vision, etc.): Our group is committed to administering academic assistance to students struggling during these difficult times.  Since many schools have decided to continue with distance learning this year, our organization is determined to provide one-on-one education for those in need through their laptops and cellphones. 

Goal/Vision: We work towards closing the educational gap between low-income minority students and privileged ones through our organization, The Gift of Learning. Education is invaluable and should be a basic human right, not a privilege for those who can afford its price tag. Our goal is to pass on the knowledge we have gained in school to other students for free. We offer tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Art. We operate on volunteers, which makes for a very dedicated batch of tutors who only want the best for their students. 

Future Goals: We are actively working on reaching out to underprivileged and low-income families. Since we do not have a lot of contacts who know of areas with underprivileged students, it has been difficult reaching out to them. Reaching out to these families is really important to us because so far we have only been able to reach out to families who have children who need help with a particular subject. While we are more than happy to help their children, we know that they are more than able to afford paid tutoring services. Through this and many other articles and blog posts about us, we hope to reach out to different individuals who would like to be a part of this amazing program!
