Tiny hands, crunchy leaves, and the cutest little woodland creatures! ๐๐
Looking for an adorable fall craft that doesn't require an expensive trip to the craft store? This week's Buzzy B craft turns those beautiful fallen leaves into sweet little hedgehogs!
It's easy, inexpensive, and perfect for a chilly afternoon when the kids need something fun to do. Bonus: collecting the leaves is half the adventure!
Ages 3+ with help
20โ30 minutes
Under $5 with supplies on hand
Colorful fallen leaves (dry and flattened)
Brown construction paper or cardstock
White paper or cardstock for the background
Glue stick or school glue
Scissors
Black marker
Googly eyes (optional)
Pink crayon for rosy cheeks
Go on a leaf hunt! Bundle up and collect small red, orange, yellow, and brown leaves. Look for different shapes and sizes.
Make your hedgehog. Cut a simple hedgehog face and body from brown construction paper. Give it a cute pointed nose.
Add the leafy spikes! Glue the leaves behind the hedgehog's body, fanning them outward to create its prickly back.
Give it personality! Add eyes, a tiny black nose, a smile, and rosy pink cheeks.
Make a fall masterpiece! Glue your hedgehog onto cardstock and decorate with extra leaves, acorns, or your child's name.
Have everyone in the family make their own hedgehog! Big leaves for Mom and Dad, medium leaves for the big kids, and teeny-tiny leaves for the littlest family members.
Give each hedgehog a silly name, too. Sir Prickles, Hazel, and Professor Leafington are ready for their close-ups! ๐
The best part isn't making a perfect hedgehog. It's the leaf collecting, the giggles, the glue-covered fingers, and the memories made around the kitchen table.
Because sometimes the sweetest fall adventures are the ones you create together. ๐
