Kindness has a ripple effect. One small act can brighten someone's entire day, inspire another kind gesture, and create a more caring classroom, home, or community. That's the idea behind the Bee Kind Kindness Jar...a simple, fun activity that encourages children to practice kindness all year long.
Every time your child completes a kind act, they write it down and place it in the jar. By the end of the school year, they'll have a beautiful collection of moments that made a difference.
Mason jar, plastic jar, or any container
Construction paper or cardstock
Scissors
Markers or crayons
Ribbon or twine (optional)
Bee stickers or decorations (optional)
Decorate your jar with the words:
π Bee Kind
Add bees, flowers, hearts, sunshine, or anything that makes you smile!
Cut small slips of colorful paper.
These will become your kindness notes throughout the year.
Place the paper beside the jar with a pencil so it's easy to add new notes anytime.
Write down each completed act, fold it up, and drop it into the jar!
π Help a sibling without being asked.
π Hold the door open.
π Include someone who is playing alone.
π Write a thank-you note to a teacher.

π¦ Ice cream night
π¬ Family movie night
π Trip to the park
π Pizza picnic
π A new family book
Create one large family kindness jar.
Everyone adds notes throughout the year, then read them together on New Year's Eve, the last day of school, or Thanksgiving.
It's a wonderful reminder of all the good your family shared.
Teachers can keep a Bee Kind Classroom Jar.
Whenever students notice a classmate being kind, they write it down.
When the jar is full, celebrate with:
Extra recess
Dance party
Pajama Day
Read-aloud time
Classroom game
π No act of kindness is too small.
π Let kids decorate their own kindness slips.
π Read a few notes together once a month to celebrate progress.
π Encourage kindness without expecting rewards. The greatest reward is knowing you made someone's day brighter.
π Keep the jar somewhere everyone sees it to inspire more thoughtful moments.
Kindness doesn't have to be grand to make a difference. A smile, a helping hand, a kind word, or including someone new can change a person's entire day. As your Bee Kind Kindness Jar fills up, you'll be reminded that the smallest acts often leave the biggest impact.
Let's make this school year one filled with compassion, friendship, and hearts that are always ready to help. One little note at a time, your family can make the world a sweeter place. πππΌ
