CREATIVE THINKING SLIDE ON ASSESSMENT METHODS
When crucial skills and competencies are not recognised in the assessment system, schools are disincentivised to teach them. A broader range of assessments will help all young people demonstrate what they know and can do. This enables young people to demonstrate a well-rounded mastery of skills and subjects. These kinds of assessments better reflect what will be required of young people in the workplace. A greater range of digital, practical and creative assessments will help build a more rounded picture of progress, talent and achievement.

Expeditionary learning - XP school
March 2022 The King Alfred School Society and Rethinking Assessment were proud to host the Education On The Move Conference.
The aim of the conference was to bring together voices from across the UK to share ideas on how our education system needs to change.
Here, Gwyn ap Hari spoke about the XP Trust, a multi-academy trust made up of eight schools which all run an ‘expeditionary learning’ curriculum.
