This is a reminder of some important resources for students:
• The Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) is open daily from 9 am–5 pm. All currently enrolled full-time students and currently enrolled part-time students who have paid the comprehensive Health and Wellness Fee can schedule an appointment with a clinician by calling 617-627-3360 or going to go.tufts.edu/counseling. In addition, CMHS has a counselor-on-call available after hours at 617-627-3360 for mental health emergencies. Students can also reach out to their peer support service, Ears for Peers.
• The StAAR Center offers: 1) Accessibility services for students with disabilities, 2) Individualized support for any student through academic coaching, 3) Individual and drop-in tutoring in the natural sciences, math, statistics, economics, computer sciences and foreign language courses, 4) Workshops for developing skills in writing and academic skills like reading, note taking, and time management, and 5) Writing support throughout all stages of the writing process. Students may access any StAAR support through their website or by emailing them directly at staarcenter@tufts.edu.
• Concerned about a student’s safety or well-being? You can familiarize yourself with the information from CMHS on "How to Help Students in Distress: A Guide for Tufts Faculty, Staff, and Student Leaders" and bookmark the list of campus emergency contacts. If you believe a student or community member’s immediate safety is in danger, call the emergency line at TUPD: 617-627-6911.
• If you have non-emergency concerns about a student’s well-being or believe they could benefit from additional campus resources and support, reach out to Student Support. Student Support helps all AS&E undergraduate and graduate students navigate complex challenges, including personal and health concerns, and helps them access support. You can also consult directly with the Student Support team about next steps to support a student. To get in touch, you can submit a concern form, email studentsupport@tufts.edu, or call 617-627-3158.
• Concerned about a student’s behavior or conduct? The Office of Community Standards coordinates the handling of reports of potential violations of the University’s Code of Conduct, including academic integrity violations. To report an academic integrity violation, please use this form. Please note that faculty are required to report all suspicions of academic misconduct, which are addressed by the Office of Community Standards according to the Student Conduct Resolution Procedure. Their team is available for consultation, classroom presentations (recorded or live, virtually or in-person), and more to assist with your courses. They can be reached at communitystandards@tufts.edu or 617-617-1644.
Students can also reach out to the:
