Chaired by the GSAS deans
Graduate Director from each graduate program. DGSs are required to attend each meeting or must send someone in their place.
Reps from Graduate Admissions, Student Services, Tisch Library, Graduate Student Council, and GSAS Dean’s Office.
Duties
Initiate and approve new graduate degree programs
Approve changes to 200-level courses
Approve program curriculum updates
Review and approve academic policies
Advocate for curricular needs

How does an item get on the agenda?
In order for an Action Item to be included in the agenda, it must be submitted by the deadlines listed above. If you have any questions on the contents of a form/s, please email Benjamin Quinn at Benjamin.quinn@tufts.edu.
Please note, in most cases P&P Action Items are not typically voted on in GSAS Faculty Meetings.
New Course Proposal: Use this form to request approval for a new 200 level course offering within GSAS. The department chair and graduate program director must approve this proposal, indicating that the faculty has reviewed and support the change.
Change Existing Course Proposal: Use this form to request a change for an existing 200 level course. The department chair and graduate program director must approve this proposal, indicating that the faculty has reviewed and support the change.
Remove Existing Course Proposal: Use this form to request that an existing course is removed. The department chair and graduate program director must approve this proposal, indicating that the faculty has reviewed and support the change.
Change an Existing Program Proposal: Use this form to request a change for an existing graduate program. The department chair and graduate program director must approve this proposal, indicating that the faculty has reviewed and support the change.
New Program Proposal: Use this form to submit a new program (degree, certificate, etc) for approval at the Programs and Policy Committee. Please note that to submit a program for approval you should already have approval from both your department and the GSAS Dean’s Office to move forward in the process.
