The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is pleased to offer two Fellowship opportunities for incoming doctoral students. The Dean's Office, along with the continuing support of the Provost, invites departments to nominate eligible, incoming doctoral candidates.
Fellowship Programs are intended to aid in the recruitment of the most highly sought-after doctoral students applying to Tufts University. This aids in preventing financial considerations from standing in the way of choosing to pursue their degrees at Tufts.

Submit Nominations: Each doctoral program is invited to nominate up to 3 of its strongest candidates for each fellowship. To nominate a candidate from your program, complete the Fellowship Nomination Form and provide the following: the candidate's information, rank (how the candidate ranks (1-3) within your department's nomination pool), and department statement of nomination summarizing the case based on the selection criteria detailed above and conveying why the fellowship offer will be needed and persuasive.
The official award letters will be sent by the Graduate Admissions Office to the candidate via Slate. The DGS will also be notified. If a candidate turns down our offer of admission and therefore the awarded Fellowship, we will look to offer the Fellowship to another qualified candidate. This alternate candidate will come from the pool of all remaining nominations across all departments.
Departments are encouraged to call the candidates selected for an award and notify them of their nomination.
