Do you have the drive and determination to contribute to Scouting? Leaders are the backbone of our movement, and are crucial to the success of the Scouting Movement. As a leader, you’ll have the opportunity to give back to the community, and the chance to help young people develop a solid and positive foundation for their future.

As a leader you can gain formal leadership qualifications (as well as Adventurous Activity qualifications), work with like-minded individuals, and teach young people life lessons through providing experiences of a lifetime!

Our Group is currently seeking suitable applicants to join our Joey Leadership team.

ADULT SUPPORTER

Scouts Queensland has recently issued a revised policy for adults supporting at Scout activities. One key change was the removal of the Youth Program Supporter (YPS) appointment which was communicated earlier this year.

Another significant update has been made to when a Working with Children Card (blue card) is required. We've summarised the changes below:

Parents (who are not members of Scouts Queensland) are no longer required to hold a Blue Card, whilst they are volunteering within the same unit that their child is a member, including provision of transport. Instead, you will be asked to register via QR code and wear a visitor lanyard. You will still be required to hold a Blue Card to assist at camps or other overnight activities.

Other Adults (who are not members of Scouts Queensland) are no longer required to hold a Blue Card, if they volunteer for no more than seven (7) days (or activities) in a calendar year. Instead, they will be asked to register via our QR code and wear a visitor lanyard. They will still be required to hold a Blue Card to assist at camps or other overnight activities.
