For the Forest Game we watched the film More of Everything. It is about the Swedish forestry model and the statements made by the actors. They are examined in more detail and it is said why these arguments for the "exemplary" forestry model are not as good as they seem.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are objectives the UNO wants to reach before 2030. They are a good guideline to follow to have a main idea.
There are two main goals we can link to our project:
15 | Life on land
4 | Quality education
And one other sub-goal:
12 | Responsible consumption & production
So this goal is the most important. It's about the preservation of the forest and all that concerns it. One of our main purpose is to communicate on the use of the forest.
This goal is also very important because it's by the education that we want to communicate on our project, so through a game!
The 12th goal is less obvious, but can still be pretty relevant. We want people to think about their use of the wood. This goal of us is more indirectly.
Even if the video of Dr. Karl-Henrik Robèrt about The Triple Bottom Line is 10 years old, it's more relevant than ever.
He talks about the social, ecological /environmental and financial /economic pillars and their relevance. About that, this social and environmental pillars should be the base of the financial possibilities. It's about being socially sustainable within ecological constrains, and then you need to find solutions in this tension field. These solutions can be products or services.
All in all, it's about how you should develop products and services sustainably.
We tried to put these pillars in our game to match the educational aspect and make people question them self.
