This section focuses on Emerging Technologies, as outlined by Design and Technology specifications. It introduces and discusses cutting edge developments in manufacturing and ICT technology, such as 3D printing in the construction industry and automation on the production line. The social, ethical and economic consequences of technological innovation are discussed. The aim is to inspire students to consider and understand how new technologies influence product design, sustainability, user experience and resulting changes in the economy and society.
