Community Engagement, Solidarity, and Citizenship (CESC) is a subject that empowers students to become active, responsible, and compassionate members of society. It focuses on understanding the social, cultural, and political issues that affect communities and encourages learners to take meaningful action to address them. Through discussions, service-learning projects, and collaborative activities, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills while learning the value of empathy, cooperation, and civic responsibility.
CESC also promotes solidarity by helping students appreciate diversity, build respectful relationships, and work together for the common good. It nurtures a sense of social awareness and ethical responsibility, inspiring students to contribute positively to their communities and become engaged citizens who can make informed decisions and drive meaningful change. Ultimately, this subject cultivates learners who are not only knowledgeable but also socially conscious and committed to the betterment of society.
Our activity in Bahay Ampunan made us realize how important it is to show kindness, compassion, and understanding to others, especially to those who need love and support the most. Spending time with the children helped us appreciate the small things and reminded us that happiness does not always come from material things but from genuine care and connection. It also taught us to be more grateful for what we have and inspired us to continue helping and making a positive difference in our community.
