Porsche

Founded by Ferdinand Porsche in 1931, and at first was given a task of designing a car for the people by the German government in WW2, in other words, a Volkswagen. This resulted in the Volkswagen Beetle. Porsche later split off as Volkswagen's preformance brand, and later became it's own seperate company entirely. The company's first models under it's own name were developed in ~1950, and were shown as a concept car and later produced in full. This kicked off the company to produce quick, light tourers and race cars.
