 Why did you decide to become a teacher?

It is not an easy thing to choose a profession in which you would be able to realize your interests, abilities and knowledge. As for me, I have never thought of being a teacher. English was my favourite subject at school and I wanted to connect my future profession with it. So I entered the university in Zaporizhia and received the profession of a teacher of English. After I had started to work at school "Intellect" in 1999, I understood that I couldn't choose another profession. Now I can not imagine my life without school and my students. Most time I devote to my work or creativity, as it is better to say about everything a committed teacher does at school. It is so wonderful to see the results of your work when your students show good knowledge of English at the Olympiad, participate in various projects and research works.

In my work I create different tasks for my students to give them the profound knowledge of the English language. I use various sources of information, up-to-date editions of textbooks, dictionaries, the Internet to find the necessary information and try to use new methods. All this helps me to be competent as a real teacher has to know a lot and have positive features of character. My work is: love to children+love to English. I can assure that it is very hard to work as a teacher but it is harder to give up it. It is life devoted to children. When you go to bed and get up in the morning with the same thought of improving your work and borrowing or inventing new ideas .

It is difficult teaching nowadays. Students are different and you need new teaching methods and approaches. There are more discipline problems and not enough money. Unless you are a dedicated teacher, you will not stay long. But if you are a teacher, you have to cope with all sorts of problems. 

Anyway, I love teaching. I think I would be very unhappy if I did some other kind of job. It is a great feeling when you know you have taught something well. It also makes me proud when I see my students doing well. I feel that I have achieved something. I understand that to be a teacher is not only a great honor but also responsibility for the destiny of the country and its people. Everything starts from school, and at school everything starts from the teacher.

 What's your superpower? I'm a teacher.

Superheroes live in each of us and we all have powers that affect the lives of others especially our pupils. We need them a lot in our work. Knowledge and intelligence, patience and creativity, the ability to transform and pretend, move quickly and teleport, these are all superpowers that modern teachers should have. 

Every time we come into the class we give them a smile, a good beginning of feeling positive. We teach them emotional intelligence showing the example of being friendly and kind.

We paint the world in bright colours teaching them to be responsible and bringing up the real citizens of the country . We know that they can change the world for better and the world tomorrow will be how they will decide to build see it. Because  the colours of the world tomorrow really depend on them and their vision of the better future.

And we all can become invisible pretending we don’t notice their inattention or some other naughty things our pupils do. We react with a smile listening to their “big  problems” as they think. We are also psychologists coping with their mood and encouraging them to be polite, tolerant and behave well. 

What else? Other superpowers that teachers have?

We always understand when pupils need our  help, what they feel and when they are not ready for the lesson. Looking at them we read what they think about and what they need.

It’s true that we plunge into the world of discoveries telling them a lot of amazing facts from the history,  and sometimes asking them to close their eyes and imagine all this, at that time the imagination turns into transmission, and we travel together into the past and then into the future.

And we always know how to answer their curious “Why?” and “What?”. Because we are teachers and the world around us full of magic tricks, transformation and surprises.

The power of words is proved to be essential and we, teachers, use this power to wake up the soul, show  the way and give the chance.  We teach them how to analyze and make decisions, compare and make conclusions.

We are teachers, keeping a lot of secrets, demonstrating  our student a good example, helping them to find the right place in life share with us because they trust 

Each of us has that bright light in the eyes inspiring our students and a really amazing jet backpack in the hands that makes 

Always untiring and exciting, being interested in lots of things, digitally literate and creative, ready to long life learning, different and enthusiastic, we are teachers from all around  the world.

We are superheroes in hearts able to influence and change the world
