Toxic waste

The fashion industry accounts for up to 10% of the global greenhouse pollution. That is 92 million tonnes of waste and 79 trillion liters of water that is being consumed. According to Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture the base of the problem is relying on cheap manufactured, frequent consumption, and short-lived garment use. The term they use to describe this kind of fashion is "fast fashion". according to openaccessgovernment the fashion industry is now the second-largest generator of pollution. That is why we aim to reduce the short-lived garment.

Link between project & sustainable development goals

Goal n°8 : In the textile industry, we often hear that the working conditions are unbearable in small delocalized workshops, the "employees" do not sign work contracts, the minimum wage is not respected and sometimes children are forced to work. They are overexploited by working time and risks of poisoning (due to the tanning of animal materials and the processing of raw materials) and diseases. Le Monde, 2021

It is important for our brand to be as ethical as possible, for this to happen, the working conditions must be exemplary. By buying our product, you guarantee our workers a decent wage and good working conditions.

Goal n°12 : Our natural resources are not extensible, and the day when the earth's ecological footprint exceeds the planet's biocapacity, the day of overshoot, appears earlier and earlier as the decades go by. We must do everything we can to slow down this excessive growth.

We have decided to act on our own scale, our philosophy: recycle what already exists, to limit our production. The industrial environment is the best place that must be favored if we want to reverse the current trend. The textile industry must act, must reduce its impact on the planet, must become an actor of this change.

Our brand will be designed with mainly recycled fabrics. But that's not all, we guarantee a service that can allow our customers to reuse their old shirts by themselves or give them back to the shop in exchange for loyalty Peops points. In this way, we ensure that our products are recycled and produced in a way that has the least impact on the environment.

Goal n°13 : The ecological transition is underway, one of the objectives of sustainable development is to accelerate the decarbonization of all sectors of our economy through investment. The textile sector is therefore concerned, we must fight to reduce our impact. By using only recycled materials, we are drastically reducing our CO2 emissions. For example, recycled polyester requires up to 50% less energy to manufacture.

It is not only air pollution that is being pointed at but also waste and chemicals that pollute the oceans. A large number of microparticles end up in our water as a result of washing our clothes, a daily gesture that we don't suspect. New clothes are the ones that release the most particles, so our clothes made of recycled material would limit the impact of this pollution. We guarantee also guarantee through our brand that all inks used are of natural origin.

Goal n°14 : We can also link the objectives of sustainable development together, the protection of marine life is also one of the concerns of our brand. To end this, we have set up a partnership with the Seaqual association, which is a community that gathers people, associations, and companies. They work together to clean up the oceans and make people aware of the urgency of the current pollution, in order to preserve the aquatic fauna and flora.

This association based in Spain is ideal for our group, it allows us to recover raw material for our fabrics, at a lower cost and by participating positively in the survival of the Mediterranean aquatic environment.
